Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate Review and Giveaway

9:01 PM

***GIVEAWAY CLOSED***

You know...snacking is a favorite past time for me. That is probably why I am on diets all the time. :) When I reach for a snack I always try to go for the healthier choice. Whether it be Almonds instead of M&M's, or ice water rather than soda. I TRY to be healthy and I think keeping that in mind is key when reaching for snacks.

Tropical Traditons has graciously allowed me to review another item from their website and this time, I chose the Coconut Cream Concentrate. I LOVE coconut so a cream concentrate sounded sooo good.
This Coconut Cream Concentrate is a FOOD...not an oil. So, that is important to remember when using this product. Coconut Cream Concentrate has the whole coconut in it. It has the fiber, the sugar and the protein. This is what sets it apart from the Coconut Oil. Coconut Cream Concentrate is also a low-carb food so people on low-carb diets benefit from using this product as it contains fiber. There have even been claims that people with digestive issues find relief when eating this concentrate...due to the fiber content.
I brought up snacking in the beginning of this post because that is one thing you can use Coconut Cream Concentrate for! I tried it spread onto a cracker and it was so buttery and rich tasting...I LOVED the full coconut flavor mixed with the salt on the cracker. Here are some other uses for this yummy cream concentrate...

"You can mix 1 or 2 teaspoons of Coconut Cream Concentrate with water or juice to make a creamy coconut drink. Many people put it in their coffee as a non-dairy creamer. It is also an excellent ingredient for cooking and baking. Because of its low moisture content, it can be mixed right in the batter or dough of breads and pastries. It can also enhance soups, be blended with smoothies, or made into ice cream. Many people just eat it straight, or spread it on breads and crackers, because it is so delicious!"

I am a smoothie fan, so I will definitely be using the Coconut Cream Concentrate in my smoothies. What a great addition it will be! As a side note, Tropical Traditions has a wonderful recipe website that gives some really great ideas on how to use their products...including this one!
I was a bit baffled by the solid state of my Coconut Cream and read the directions on how to liquefy it. I put it in a pan of hot water for several minutes but it really didn't solidify at all. So, I just assumed that this was the way this product was supposed to be. The problem that I ran into was that the bottom part of the jar liquefied...but the very top half did not.So, I did some troubleshooting. I went to the website and watched this video on preparation of the Coconut Cream Concentrate...which was VERY helpful!
I realized that I did several things wrong. I didn't let the jar sit in the water long enough and the water probably was not hot enough. So, I tried to prepare my Coconut Cream Concentrate again. Guess what...it worked! I was thrilled. I now have CREAMY Coconut CREAM Concentrate! :)
So, in my opinion...Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate is a wonderful product! I love the creaminess...the richness and pureness. It truly tastes like an organic product that is 100% ORGANIC...fresh from the Philippines!
