***GIVEAWAY CLOSED***
Well, in a recent search I was doing for organic beauty products I came across a soap company that really interested me. The reason was because they carry only unscented soap...which sounded very appealing to me. I am usually a fragrance type of girl, but this was a different type of soap that really intrigued me.
TrueBody is a company that was founded by Janice Shade...a career woman who has worked in brand management for companies such as Proctor & Gamble and Welch's. She also has been on marketing teams for well-known companies, including Seventh Generation. Her partner in this business is Paul Ciofalo with whom she worked at Seventh Generation. He is experienced in the consumer and consumer products field...working closely with the grocery industry to help with sales, trade spending and retailer acquisition. He and Janice work together at TrueBody to bring us the best in natural soaps. Here is a bit more about their product...
Unlike many conventional bath/beauty bars, TrueBody Soap is made without animal by-products, synthetic ingredients or chemical preservatives. In fact, due to a revolutionary process, TrueBody Soap is one of the first bar soaps on the market that is vegetable-based and entirely free of EDTA, chelatesor any other type of synthetic preservative. (Due to the necessary use of fat or oil to create soap, all bar soaps, even organic ones, currently contain some type of preservative to keep the fat/oil from going rancid over time.)
I love the fact that this soap is totally vegetable-based. That really does make TrueBody an company set apart from it's competitors.
I tried this soap out the other night while in the shower and notices several things. The first thing I noticed was that it creates a very nice lather. You don't have to rub and rub the bar of soap to try and get lather...just a few strokes across a washcloth and you are done!
The one fact that I really, really, REALLY love about TrueBody is the price of the soap. When you buy this soap, you get a three-pack for approximately $5.50 per box. That is an amazingly affordable price!!! You can find a store that carries TrueBody by checking out the "Find A Store" page on their website. This will give you a complete listing of participating retailers.
So, in my opinion...TrueBody is a truly wonderful company! I love how clean and fresh this soap makes me feel. Even after using it on my face I had no oily residue left and all my pores felt so cleansed! The price of TrueBody is amazing as well and because the company believes so much in their product, they want to make it affordable for everyone! I love that! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to try out an unscented and organic bar of soap. You do get a real bang for your buck!
TrueBody has offered to give away 5-3 packs of soap to 5 of my readers! WOW! This is truly a generous giveaway and I thank TrueBody for their generosity! :) Here are your entry options...

I loved to section about the differences between soaps and detergents! I learned that detergents are mostly petroleum based, wile soaps are made from fats, water and lye. And, while mass producers use beef tallow, more natural soaps are made from vegetable oils.

HORTON111@AOL.COM
ReplyDeleteThe chemical reaction that yields soap is known as saponification. First, the lye is dissolved in water and then added to the fat which has been melted to the form of oil. The mixture of lye water and oil is stirred until “trace” occurs and the mixture becomes a soap batter. Over time and with continued agitation the soap batter will continue to thicken. It is then poured into molds and left to cure which can take several weeks to complete
