Woolzies Dryer Balls Review & Giveaway

|
This might sound crazy to you but I love doing laundry. I think it is the fact that it makes me feel like I have accomplished something productive and I can actually SEE the results of my work. I also love the smell of the detergent circulating through my house and the warmth of the clothes when I fold them. Living in a house with 4 other people means that we have quite a bit of laundry (although not as much as some families that I know that have 7+ children!!) and alot of that laundry belongs to my children. So I do laundry probably about twice a week and honestly, I don't mind a bit! I am always looking for laundry supplies that will make my job a bit easier and I love experimenting with new products too!
I have heard of using dryer balls before but didn't really think it was something I would like. I love the smell of dryer sheets and having fragrant clothing is a must for me. However, because I conduct reviews, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try out some of these eco-friendly dryer balls for myself! Woolzies Dryer Balls are made by a company called Soft By Nature, Inc and they are located right here in my home state of New York! Here is a bit more about this company...

Soft By Nature, Inc. is a small family owned company nestled in the picturesque Hudson Valley region of Southern New York State. Our mission is straight-forward; we intend to pass down this earth to our children in the same beautiful condition that we received it from our parents. We accomplish this by developing all natural eco friendly products and sharing them with our fellow citizens.

In this spirit, we are very proud to present WOOLZIES®, The All Natural Dryer Ball Set. This set of six handmade pure wool dryer balls are special in several ways. They deliver the same benefits for laundry as conventional fabric softeners WITHOUT all the nasty chemicals. They save everyone a lot of money by eliminating the need to continuously spend on fabric softener liquid and sheets. They cut down on the time it takes to dry a typical load by at least 25% thereby saving everyone even more money and cutting down on fossil fuel usage. Finally, being as that they are handmade in the democratic republic of Nepal, they provide a steady source of income to the desperately needy women of that developing nation.

I love how Woolzies are handmade in Nepal. One of my best friends is from Nepal and moved here to New York several years ago. Nepal is a very poor country and I think that making these dryer balls is a fantastic way to provide income to the Nepalis.
So, for this review I was sent a box of Woolzies Dryer Balls to try out and see what I thought of them. My package arrived the day before I was going to do laundry so it was perfect timing. :)
These dryer balls have so many wonderful benefits...they are made of 100% New Zealand Wool and are hypo-allergenic. That means that they are safe for people with wool allergies! I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with an allergy to dryer sheets and she has no idea how she is going to soften her laundry. I cannot wait to introduce her to Woolzies...these would be perfect for her! I made the picture above nice and big so you could read for yourself all the perks of using Woolzies. I especially love the part about Woolzies being chemical free. Awesome!
Woolzies look like small snowballs...I actually have not let my children see these yet. I know that as soon as they see them, these dryer balls will be flying around my house. Nope. That just won't be good. Because Woolzies are not machine made, they can differ in size and shape so don't be alarmed if some of your Woolzies looks a bit misshapen. It just means that they are authentic and hand made. As you can see, some of mine are a bit oblong or flat in areas...aren't they cute though?
Using these dryer balls is simple. All you do is toss them into your dryer with your wet laundry. They help to fluff and separate the clothes so they dry more evenly. Before using Woolzies, I had noticed that some of my heavier laundry was difficult to dry completely. Now, every piece of clothing dries nicely. They are also not full of static like they were. Not sure why the get like that but static is terribly annoying. After using my Woolzies for a whole day I have to say that they are pretty amazing! I love how they are good for 1,000 loads...that is fantastic!

One box of 6 Woolzies Dryer Balls retails for $34.95 and if you are in the US, shipping is FREE! Woolzies do ship worldwide too...it will just cost you an extra $6.95 to ship them out. Also, Woolzies can be found on Facebook and Twitter. Be sure to check them out!
So, in my opinion...Woolzies Dryer Balls are wonderful. I am loving how fluffy and static-free my laundry has been. It is so nice to not have all the chemicals that can be found in dryer sheets...I miss the fragrance, but I think I could get used to using Woolzies. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They truly are a cost-effective and will keep your laundry fluffy and soft.

The generous folks at Soft By Nature, Inc. have offered to give away a box of Woolzies Dryer Balls to one of you! Here are your entry options...

Ever since we had our baby we stopped using regular detergents and fabric softeners. We're really happy with our change except for the fact that some clothes don't come out soft enough, there's lots more static, and drying time for some of the diapers takes FOREVER. For all of those reasons, I really want to try Woolzies!
