Healing Your "Winter Skin" With Carmex {Review & Giveaway}

A little birdie told me that yesterday was supposed to be the first day of spring. Here, we had 20 degree temperatures and snow. Last year, the first day of spring gave us 80 degree temperatures. I cannot believe that we are officially in spring now. Hard to believe considering the weather outside seems to think that it is still winter. I am not going to complain though...I HATE the heat and will take this cold weather over the high temperatures any day. With cold weather comes one thing...dry skin. My hands always take a beating throughout the winter months because I always have them in water and they are constantly being exposed to the wind and icy temperatures. Every night, I apply hand lotion to keep my skin somewhat soft and use lotion throughout the day to keep the cracked skin at bay. My father's hands are HORRIBLE when it comes to roughness, cracks and bleeding...I feel so bad for him! With the right creams and lotions though, you can keep your skin supple, soft and always feeling great!

Today, I am going to introduce you to Carmex's Healing Cream and Hydrating Lotion which has recently been given new packaging and it is lovely! Carmex is a company that makes awesome lip balms, conditioners and also a plethora of skin care products. Here is a brief bio of this company...

Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20 years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars.

Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin. Carma Labs employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the family: Alfred's grandsons Eric and Paul Woelbing. The Woelbing stove is now used for cooking things the family can actually eat.

Like I have said in previous Carmex reviews, I just love their signature red and yellow packaging. I can pick it out in any store simply by looking for the color. Having eye-catching packaging is key to great marketing and Carmex has that covered!

So, for this review I was sent Carmex Healing Cream and Hydrating Lotion (and a cute hoodie. Just because. *smile*). Sometimes, I just can't help but think that it(whatever product I am reviewing) will be just like every other lotion and hand cream product that I have reviewed in the past. Because there are so many different brands and types of lotions out there, what will set this one apart? Well, I was really surprised with what I found.

The Carmex Hydrating Lotion is wonderful. You can use it daily and it is loaded with Vitamin E and ultra-concentrated Aloe Vera to soothe your skin.

This lotion is very hydrating and, to my great surprise, is non-greasy! Because I usually apply lotion when I am running around my house, quick absorption and non-greasy lotion is a MUST. I go from one thing to the next so I need something that will work well with me.

The Carmex Healing Cream is luscious. I applied this to both my hands and also to my heels. It is made for the roughest and driest skin that you have and seriously, my feet are always dry. I applied the cream to my feet about 4 hours ago and I can still feel it on there. I also loved the non-greasy factor of this cream and found that it absorbed really quickly into my skin...which was also a wonderful benefit.

So, in my opinion...Carmex Healing Cream and Hydrating Lotion is wonderful! I love the fresh, clean scent and how it absorbs so quickly into my skin. Being the busy mom that I am, I don't have time for lotions to absorb so this was probably my favorite part about using these products. My skin was also really soft and felt so great after applying these creams. I would definitely recommend Carmex to anyone! They have some of the best skin care products that I have tried!!
