Off-Ramp Publishing Products Review and Giveaway (12 Winners!)

This next review is going to span several different topics so get ready for some fun! I was sent several really nice items from Off Ramp Publishing to share with you all today.
I am NOT a bookworm, yet do enjoy reading on occassion. I especially love to read books that give advice on parenting and real-life scenarios to which I can relate as a mom. Magazines with "mom columns" in them are some of my favorites.

"What Haven't They Told Me?" is a really great book that encompasses the topics of being a new mom. I am NOT a new mom yet still enjoyed reading this book. My brain functions poorly at the end of the day so I generally look for "easy to read" books when I am relaxing at the end of the night. "What Haven't They Told Me?" is an easy read and took me only a few nights to get through.

"What Haven't They Told Me?" is written by Lorraine E. Fisher and she really does a phenomenal job with this book. I was very suprised when I opened the book and saw all the advice...given from real moms...with real babies...living real lives! There is personal advice on diapering, sleeping, traveling, safety and much more! I was so excited to see that I could relate to many of the tips that were given. Here are a few exerpts:

"Make a list of what you've already packed for the hospital and what you need to throw into the bag at the last minute. Post the list on your fridge." ~Rachel in California

"Don't be a 'know it all'. Consider all advice offered because it may be very useful, whatever it is." ~Marianne in Texas

"Run your finger under the gathers of disposable diapers to make sure they actually catch what they are supposed to." ~Camille in Texas

"Store a diaper, wipes and cream in your car for emergencies when you have to pick up your kid and go somewhere and you don't have a chance to pick up your diaper bag from home." ~Cara in New York

I don't know about you, but these are FABULOUS tips! I could have used this book during my first year of being a mommy...uggg...it was TOUGH. I especially enjoyed the one bit of advice about making sure you run your finger around the gathers of a disposable diaper. *sigh* I remember the memorable day when I realized that was WHY the gathers were there (after changing a horrible blow-out...I think my babies should win awards for the worst blow-outs on the planet!)! LOL!!!

The second group of items that I am going to be talking about in this review are the "Let's GetReady" books and the KleenSlate Dry Erase White Board Paddles.

I recieved the "Let's Get Ready For Kidergarten!", "Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten!" Spanish and English Edition, and "Let's Get Ready For First Grade!" books and have to say that these books are really wondeful! Right now, my 2 1/2 year old is really starting to pick up on her numbers, ABC's, colors and other important concepts. I was thumbing through the "Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten" book and noticed that she can learn all about her opposites, anatomy and even how to identify different types of money! She is going to LOVE this book! The Spanish and English edition correlates Spanish along with the English words in the book so if I want to teach her Spanish, I can very easily. The "Let's Get Ready For First Grade!" book is very interesting as well as it encompasses simple math skills, compound words, capitalization skills and so much more.All of these books are heavy duty so they will last a long time. The pictures are also VERY bright and colorful and will hold the attention of a wiggly toddler easily!

The KleenSlate Paddles are really cool too! You can use them as flash cards and because they are dry-erase, you can use them over and over again! I am excited to use these when I start to homeschool...they will be very useful tools for me!

So, in my opinion...these products from Off-Ramp Publishing are so helpful to me as a mom! I can relate so well to all the advice given in the "What Haven't They Told Me?" book. This would make a WONDERFUL baby shower or new parent gift. I am definitely going to add this to my "must have" list for new moms! The "Let's Get Ready" books are very educational and captivating for my daughter. I love how they cover so many different topics and skills that she will need. I LOVE the KleenSlate Paddles as well...very innovative and creative idea! I am definitely equipped to start teaching Hannah some new things!
