As I grow older, I start to wish I didn't have to count my birthdays anymore. HAHA! My cakes start to look like the one pictured above and my hair gets little silver streaks in it. My daughter walked around church today telling everyone that it was my birthday and how old I was. Soooo  embarrassing  cute of her to do that for me. LOL! Birthdays can be depressing, however, I had a FANTASTIC one this year. It started Friday night when we had a baby sitter for the children and hubby took me to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner. Yeah...those Blooming Onions are so evil. I ate way too much of that. Then, on Saturday evening we went to my parent's house to celebrate again. My dad gave me a super cool bird feeder that he is going to put up outside, and I also received some lovely cards and well wishes. We are a family of six people now, and as you can probably imagine, I do alot of laundry during any given week. I typically break up my loads by kids laundry and my husband's and my clothes. It is just easier when it comes to sorting, washing, folding and putting away. Today alone, I did four loads of laundry and that was everything but the kid's clothes. I am used to doing alot of laundry though, I grew up in a family of 8 so I am well versed in large amounts of clothes. Maybe that is why I don't mind doing laundry today. Actually, I love doing laundry. Call me crazy...you won't be the first. :) Doing alot of laundry means I go through alot of laundry detergent and let me tell you, having an EFFECTIVE detergent is half the battle. Being a busy mom of four is not an easy task. My children keep me hopping from sun up to sun down and there are some days that I wish there were three of me. I just don't seem to have enough hands. When all three of my older children were babies, I always ALWAYS had a pack 'n play nearby. I never had a fancy one with all the bells and whistles, but just having the play yard was enough at the time. Pack and plays are the new version of play pens. Remember those? My mom had one and it was so handy, she used it all the time. When I registered for baby items for my first baby I made certain I had a Pack 'n Play on my registry. My husband suffers from allergies, as well as asthma. I hate that he has to deal with that, and it pretty much effects him year round. It seems pretty typical for kids to have allergies when one or both of their parents suffer from them and I have just been waiting to see which of my children has allergies. Well, my 4 year old son has had dark bags under his eyes for a long time and also, has runny noses pretty much every day. He doesn't complain of any other symptoms but I am not sure he would recognize them as problems if he had them. The big one is his runny nose though, he hates that. I am planning to take him to an allergist at some point to see if maybe he has seasonal, environmental or food allergies but for now, I just use over the counter remedies for him. Childhood allergies are no fun, but thank goodness there are some great products out there to help us as parents, give our kids some relief. Once upon a time, I was an administrative assistant for a busy car dealership. I LOVED my job and my employers loved me. It was the perfect job for me. I became a mother in 2008 for the very first time. During my pregnancy, I remember how excited I was to go set up my baby registry and pick out things for my new baby. Being a first time mom can be so overwhelming and stressful, it can be easy to get lost in all of the gadgets and gizmos that involve a new baby. My baby showers were amazing. I think I had three in total. Everything I received was perfect and I truly felt prepared for my little one when she arrived. Now I am a mom to four little ones and as the years have passed, all my once-new items are now well used. My high chair is worn out and I don't even have my original pack and play.
