Orkin "Mouse in a House" Game & Giveaway

Ohhhh mice. I hate mice. When we first moved into our house, we had mice but I didn't know it at first. Here's my crazy story. I woke up one morning and went to the kitchen to get some breakfast. I grabbed an unopened bag of cinnamon raisin bagels and got a plate out of the cupboard. As I went to open the bag, I noticed that there was a hole in the bottom of the bag but it didn't look like a hole big enough to get a bagel out of. I immediately accused my husband of opening the wrong end of the bag and thought to myself, "Why doesn't he pay attention to which end is the correct end!" Upon further investigation, I noticed that several of the bagels near the hole were chewed up...and immediately, I was disgusted. Mice. The thought of them scampering across my kitchen counters was repulsive enough but when I thought of them getting into my food, I was SO grossed out. I went out and bought mice poison immediately and prayed that those pesky rodents would be gone ...

Sweeney's Deer Repellent Review & Giveaway

One of the things we love the most about our house is the view from the backyard. We live in a town, just outside the city limits and we also live in a housing development. HOWEVER, our home is located on the outer loop of the development and we have a huge brush covered field behind us. It is inhabited with deer, foxes and other wildlife. Our children have seen more wildlife here than they did at our other house and it is SO fun to teach them about different animals. We have just begun hunting season around here and the deer are showing up all over the place. They are being scared out of the woods into the open areas and we have been enjoying seeing many deer behind our home. We do not have any foliage for them to eat as far as gardens go and we do have arborvitae trees around our property line which supposedly are deer repellent trees so they stay out of my yard for the most part.  If you are having issues with deer invading your property and devouring  nibbling y...

TERRO Fruit Fly Trap Review & Giveaway

Here at our house, we constantly have bananas sitting on our kitchen counter. When I have babies who are learning to eat solids, bananas are my go-to food for them...they are soft, sweet and the perfect food for sensory play. ALL of my babies loved bananas and now that they are older, we still eat bananas but make banana bread even more! One of the things that I hate about bananas is the fact that they go bad so quickly. I heard that if you separate them when you buy them, they won't ripen as fast. There is a chemical emitted from them that causes them to ripen quickly if they are attached in bunch but that process slows down if you separate them. I haven't tried that yet but will soon! When bananas begin to go bad (or any fruit for that matter), you will notice that the fruit fly population in your kitchen multiplies. Those pesky little flies don't harm you but they will drive you BONKERS!! So, if you have a persistent fruit fly problem, TERRO has a solution for you ...

Combat Ant Killing Bait Strips Review & Giveaway

Now that Spring has arrived it seems that all the bugs are coming out of hiding to find food and make their cozy summer homes. I HATE bugs...especially the ones that find their way into my house. Just today I received 3 huge mosquito bites on my feet and legs. After supper, I killed a monstrous mosquito and he was full of red blood...probably mine. Yuck. Probably the most disliked house pests are ants. In our old house I would have loads of ants...big and small ones particularly in the spring. I have a special ant killer recipe that I make and use to kill them and it has always worked really well for me. Typically, within 24 - 48 hours of seeing the ants they are gone after eating the poison. So, it works for me. Despite my effective ant poison recipe, I am always on the lookout for new and improved ant poisons that will continue to keep the little pests at bay. So far this year, I haven't seen any ants in my house which is GREAT! Combat is a company that makes pest control...

Victor Tri-Kill Mouse Trap Review & Giveaway {2 Winners}

I have never had to deal with a mice problem in my house (that I knew of) until we moved into our new house. My old house obviously had some mice in the basement because we found alot of mouse droppings in the corners of the basement...but I never saw them. Mice don't really bother me, meaning if I see one I don't go screaming for the nearest piece of furniture to stand on. :) However, I don't like the idea of them being in my personal space and getting into my food. That's disgusting. One morning about two weeks after we moved, I found a bag of bagels that had been opened at the wrong end of the bag. In my haste, I immediately asked myself why my husband would open the wrong end of the bag. Ha ha...it wasn't him. After inspecting the bag more carefully, I discovered that the bag had actually been chewed through completely and one of the bagels inside the bag had been eaten...almost entirely. That was the last straw. I had MICE in my kitchen, on my counter tops  ...
