Purex PowerShot Detergent Review & Giveaway

We are a family of six people now, and as you can probably imagine, I do alot of laundry during any given week. I typically break up my loads by kids laundry and my husband's and my clothes. It is just easier when it comes to sorting, washing, folding and putting away. Today alone, I did four loads of laundry and that was everything but the kid's clothes. I am used to doing alot of laundry though, I grew up in a family of 8 so I am well versed in large amounts of clothes. Maybe that is why I don't mind doing laundry today. Actually, I love doing laundry. Call me crazy...you won't be the first. :) Doing alot of laundry means I go through alot of laundry detergent and let me tell you, having an EFFECTIVE detergent is half the battle. Dirt just seems to find my children and sometimes, the messes are extra-ordinary.
Purex has been a long time favorite of mine and I have used the Purex brand for several years now. It has been the most reasonable (cost wise) and has proven to be very effective in my battle against stains and dirt. I do recommend the Purex brand to family and friends just because I do love it so much. This post means that there is yet another new and innovative product that has come out recently from Purex and this time, I will be sharing their all new PowerShot Detergent.
This easy measure liquid detergent is unlike anything I have ever seen because it is self-dosing. I have seen the detergents that have the large container that flips onto it's side with the cup you use to measure the detergent, but nothing like this. I was really interested to see how this detergent dispenser would work for me.
So, for this review I was sent a bottle of Purex PowerShot in the Mountain Breeze scent. This scent happens to be my most favorite of the Purex detergent scents! :) It arrived recently and because I am currently living in a Siberian Tundra (I think we had a wind chill of -30 today!!!) , it had ice in it. Sooo, I had to wait for it to thaw out a little before using it. No worries though...it worked just fine! 
This detergent is very easy to use. The cap is a flip top so you don't have to worry about losing a cap or measuring cup. The directions are also printed directly on the top of the cap so you don't have to wonder how to use this dispenser. 
I was confused at first as to whether or not I had to squeeze the bottle or not, but finally figured out that I had to just hold the bottle directly upside down and the detergent would dispense into the washing machine. Once I figured that out, I had put ALOT of detergent into my washer...resulting in VERY sudsy towels. :) Hee hee...so, extra rinse cycles were in order. However, now that I have it figured out, I am good to go. 

My clothes turned out smelling amazing, as always and I am totally hooked on this brand new technology in this no-spill detergent bottle. So easy to use, so lovely to smell and so incredibly mess-free, I love it. Being a mom who cleans up messes all day long, it is nice to have something that doesn't create extra messes for me. Total win in my opinion. So, this new detergent should be showing up in a store near you soon if not already and I would definitely recommend you trying it out for yourself.

    If money wasn't an issue, Gain would be my favorite. Purex is my favorite that fits my budget.

    I don't really have a favorite detergent because I often use different kinds depending on what is on sale and I have coupons for. But, I do like Purex.

    We are a newly converted Purex family. We used to use Xtra because it was cheap and we could get big bottles. But it just didn't seem to be cleaning our clothing like it used to. And I am not willing to shell out tons of money for brand like Tide. So I decided to try Purex on a whim and we have been loving it ever since. I have not seen this new one in my stores yet, but I am sure it will be in them soon. Thanks for the chance.

    Sadly, Purex quietly discontinued Powershot. I refill my bottles. Boneheaded decision by Purex and they were rude when I contacted them about it.
