Do you like handmade things? I do! I think it really showcases someones creativity and adds some sentiment to the item. When I give gifts, it means sooo much more to the recipient if the gift was handmade. When travelling internationally while I was in high school, I loved collecting handmade things. From the Dominican Republic, I snagged a GORGEOUS painting as well as some lovely necklaces. From Spain, I brought home a stunning sweater that was burgundy and had silver shimmers throughout the material. So, I do have an appreciation for handmade things...especially from other countries.
This is where my next company comes in! Meet NOVICA! I first saw NOVICA on another blog that was conducting a review and I was really impressed by this company.

NOVICA offers unique, one-of-a-kind products that range from purses and handbags to vases, wall decor and handmade jewelry. They also have a very nice selection of unique corporate gifts. These products are sourced from countries and regions around the globe, which gives each item authenticity and true representation of the specific talent of the creator. Artisans are found in Bali, Peru, West Africa, Mexico, Thailand and Brazil...to name a few.
The item that I chose for this review comes all the way from Pupuan, Bali and is hand crafted by a woman named Indah. Here is her story...

Indah is a very active young woman from Pupuan, a fertile village where practical all tropical fruits grow abundant. The name means "beautiful," just as beautiful as the artisan, who always smiles and is kind to other people. Indah wished to have a career of her own, so she left her family and village to go to a larger city. She worked for an international company for almost two years, during which time she met and fell in love with a man from Celuk. Eventually they got married and now they have a daughter.

Indah's husband is a silversmith, and he taught her his craft. Together they design original jewelry pieces that have attracted the attention of many. Indah really enjoys her time designing jewelry, which brings her the added benefit of contributing to her family finances.
The "Dearest Heart" Onyx and Peridot Drop Earrings that Indah has created are just stunning. I fell in love with them when I was searching for something for this review and I just kept coming back to these! I am not a huge fan of large and dangling earrings so these Onyx and Peridot Drop Earrings are the perfect size. But wait, I am getting ahead of myself here. I am going to start from the time I received the package in the mail.
My package arrived and of course, I opened it right away. I was greeted by a very lovely box, wrapped in corn husk type ribbon. Simple, yet STUNNING. The earrings were nicely nestled inside the box and padded very securely. Included was a personal note and description tag from the artist, which was very neat! I loved how they wrote several phrases in Bali (I think that was the language) and translated them to English.
These earrings feature delicate .925 Sterling silver hearts with sleek black onyx and dazzling green peridot. They are my kind of earrings! I have so many outfits that these will dress up nicely!
