Prem Soaps Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

I often love to highlight beauty and skin care products here on my blog and have been on the search for some really great and organic beauty companies to feature. When it comes to my skin (as I have said numerous times before) I am choosy as to what I use on it. Our skin really takes a beating...especially when exposed to the weather and indoor elements such as water, heat, cleaners and soaps. Have you noticed that most soaps today...even though they smell great...contain LOADS of chemicals and additives? I have, and honestly-it's scary. Think about it...your skin is like a giant sponge; what goes ON gets absorbed IN. So I think it is important to use only those products that will put goodness in...rather than chemicals.
The other day I was searching the Internet for organic kitchen products. Specifically, I was looking for bamboo products, towels, dishes, etc. However, I was NOT prepared to find what I did! Prem Soaps is a little company nestled in Brooklyn, NY that makes ORGANIC and VEGAN home and body products. The really amazing thing about this company is that it is a home-based company and all products are made in the kitchen!

Here is a bit more about Prem Soaps...

We're a Brooklyn-based bath and beauty company making organic and vegan products. Recently launched by two vegetarians and a vegan, we are inspired by the idea that we can create high-quality, all-natural, organic, cruelty-free, environmentally sound luxury products. We always take the environment into consideration when sourcing, producing and packaging our products. We design and refine recipes and make all of our products at home, in our Brooklyn kitchen using only the finest raw ingredients. All of our products are created with a loving spirit — a little prem is in each one.

I have become a fan of raw ingredients...loving the way they feel, look and smell. In fact...I think I'm addicted! :)
For this review I was sent a wonderful package of goodies to try and I have been blessed with the opportunity to share them with you all today! When my box arrived I could immediately smell what was inside. Without even looking at the return address label I KNEW what I had received. :)

Let me start by saying that the packaging on these products is so gorgeous. I love how they have such a country look to them. The candles are in canning jars and the soaps are wrapped in brown paper. If you have a country themed home, these products are FOR YOU.
I also love the hand-written labels that are printed on brown paper...they look so home made and like someone really took the time to prepare them just for me! Wonderful presentation.
The Orange Tinted Lip Balm comes in a lovely tin with a slide-out lid. It tastes just like an orange too! All you do is slide your finger over the surface and then rub it on your lips. Wow...my lips stayed moisturized for hours! This balm is made with a combination of soy wax, candelillia wax (instead of bees wax which is not vegan), organic olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter and essential oils. This makes a very luxurious balm for the lips.
I really enjoyed trying out the soaps as well. The names alone are enough to draw you in. Who would not LOVE to try Orange Cinnamon??? Sounds sooo yummy. My favorite (that is now in my bathroom next to the sink) is the Lime With Cilantro.
It is a really mild-scented soap that contains a special avocado oil formula along with cilantro and hints of lime...designed to calm and refresh. The color is also really nice and would look lovely in the powder room or the kitchen.
Last but not least I tried the candles. I do like massage candles and their Lemon Lime scented candle is VERY luxurious. In case you do not know how to use a massage candle...here is a brief tutorial. :)

~Light your candle for 20 or more minutes, until a pool of wax has formed
~Scoop (watch the flame) or pour some wax onto your skin or "paint on" with a makeup brush.
~Massage into skin!

Just so you know...soy wax melts at a low temperature so don't be afraid of getting burned. I was tentative the first time I tried the massage candle but it really wasn't bad at all! These candles are not strongly scented so if you are sensitive to smells, these should be OK. I wasn't overpowered at all by the smell.

So, in my opinion...Prem Soaps is a wonderful company! I love ALL of the products I was sent and am especially loving the Lime With Cilantro soap. The products are clean, vegan and organic...making them very high quality in scent and feel. I love them!!!
