When my husband and I were first married, we never even thought of getting a dog. A year after our first child was born we started to discuss having a dog and the benefits of getting a dog while our child was still small and could get used to a pet. The more we talked about it, the more we wanted to do it. We really wanted to get a Golden Retriever and the idea of having a "child-friendly" dog was very appealing to us. So, we began to search and we were shocked at the amount of puppies that are out there!
Time went on and we made it through the house breaking and the other "things" that come with having a new puppy. Shortly after we brought Lily home, I found out I was expecting our second child. This was wonderful news but I immediately began to worry about having a puppy and a new baby. The work Lily required was already challenging, but I could not even begin to imagine what it would be like with a baby. As time went on it became very clear to us that we would not be able to keep our puppy. She was so busy and rambunctious and required alot of attention that we could not give her...she deserved so much more.
We decided to do some internet marketing and try to get the word out about our beautiful dog. It wasn't long before our phone started ringing and people started coming to see Lily. We were extremely picky about who Lily's new owner would be. Finally, we got a call from a lady who was looking for a dog for her mom. Lily sounded like a perfect fit...and she was. Lily met (and loved) her new owner and was taken home after the first visit.
So, our first adventure with a dog didn't turn out so well. But, thanks to internet marketing, we were able to find a better home for her and she is a happy dog now...getting the love and perfect attention that she deserves!!
I am participating in a blogger campaign by Bucks2Blog for an internet marketing company and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.
