Cowgirl Chocolates Review

6:50 PM

Are you ready for a review that really packs a punch??? Well, here goes!

This past weekend, I received in the mail a box of chocolate truffles from Cowgirl Chocolates. I wasn't prepared for what happened after I opened the box. I took a bite of one, chewed a little, then WHAM!!!!! The zing hit me. I have NEVER tasted anything like it before...spicy chocolate! Who would have thought?!?

Actually, I did know that it was spicy chocolate before I bit into it, but I wasn't sure I would like it. The combination of sweet and spicy was actually very good...I was suprised. My husband LOVES LOVES LOVES spicy foods so when I offered him one, he was like, "What? It's hot? Chocolate??" Ha ha! Well, he took a bite and immediately told me that the rest of the box was for him. I didn't argue as I am currently nursing my four month old and didn't want to shock him too badly by eating 5 spicy truffles! LOL! But, if I wasn't nursing, I would have enjoyed a few more, that's for sure!

Cowgirl Chocolates really know how to catch your eye. The packaging was so cute...the box of chocolates was wrapped in red tissue paper, tied with a black ribbon with a little hat charm threaded through the ribbon. I don't know about you, but when I give a gift...presentation is EVERYTHING. Someone was really thinking about that when they designed the packaging of the box of chocolate that I received.

As far as gift options go, Cowgirl Chocolates has just about anything you would and could want. Some of their products include things like:

Whew...what a selection! And that is just a FEW of their products!!! Oh yes, they do offer a mild-mannered chocolate as well that isn't spicy. They also have gift baskets and large quantities to suit those of you who cannot eat just one of their chocolates!
Here is the story behind these fabulous sweets (hots!)...
"Head Cowgirl Marilyn Lysohir founded Cowgirl Chocolates in 1997. Her two favorite things in the world are art (she has a notable career as a ceramic sculptor) and chocolate. In fact her first job was working in a chocolate factory in Pennsylvania. Marilyn mingled some favorite memories with some new ideas to create an American original, Cowgirl Chocolates...chocolates with a spicy cowgirl kick. She was the pioneer, one of the first companies to offer spicy chocolates in the world.Cowgirl Chocolates has won a total of 19 product awards and 2 packaging awards and is located in Moscow, Idaho USA. It has also been featured on the Food Network on “Unwrapped” and “Extreme Cuisine” and on CNBC “On the Money”. They have also been written up in the New York Times, InStyle, the Toronto Star among others."

In my opinion, Cowgirl Chocolates truly is a unique company that offers a nice selection for those of us who like a little "bang" for our buck. These would also make GREAT Christmas gifts for those "hard to buy for" people on your list!
I loved what I received and am hoping that you stop over and take a look at what Cowgirl Chocolates has to offer YOU...you will not be disappointed! :)

  3. I also heard of spicy chocolates and that they were great. Poor baby would have gotten a upset tummy if you ate them, so you smart to pass on them.
