Fabulous Beauty Tips From COVERGIRL...Look Gorgeous on Mother's Day!

7:44 PM

So, Mother's Day is Sunday. My mom is sick, my sister is sick and my babies are sick. This means that we probably will not be getting together as a family for the special day. :( But that doesn't mean that I cannot try to look my best! We do have church on Sunday (every Sunday, actually) so that is a good excuse to look good, right?
Well, COVERGIRL has teamed up with makeup artist Jake Bailey to bring you some awesome makeup tips to help you look fab this Mother's Day! These tips are in conjunction with a brand new product, COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation. Here are these handy and helpful tips...

All About the Eyes: For moms on‐the‐go, an eyelash curler and healthy coat of rich, black mascara is all you need for a clean daytime look. Curling lashes opens the eyes, and applying mascara close to the base will define the lashline and really accentuate your eyes. Pluck any stray eyebrow hairs, and use a clear mascara or brow gel to keep unruly hairs from straying.

My thoughts:I agree! Your eyes are the windows to your soul and they are what people look at when they first see you. I have never tried curling my eyelashes before...hmmm...my sister does her eyelashes in the car while driving! YIKES! :)

Hip Lips Look Light & Bright: Forget too‐dark reds and the same old nude – rosy shades are the most universally flattering for spring. Bright pinks work best on pale skin, and corals do wonders for olive‐toned complexions. For a flawless application, use a lip scrub to remove any dead skin, leaving behind a smooth surface. Apply lipstick directly from the tube, and refine corners and edges using a lip brush or lip liner of the same color.

My Thoughts: I am a lip gloss lover...however I do not love bright colors. I think that lips should look natural and too much lipstick looks cakey. BUT, these tips are awesome none the less!
Fake Flawless Skin with the Right Foundation: For the most natural look and fastest application, use your fingers to gently blend a small amount of foundation over problem‐prone areas – cheeks, nose and forehead – where pores and redness can appear. For more coverage, use a foundation brush to apply, and gently press a sponge over heavier spots to absorb excess. One of my favorite products is COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation. It’s super easy to use, and anti‐aging ingredients won’t settle into fine lines or wrinkles (a common concern for my clients) so the result is a polished look that lasts all day. Perfect for moms with a short supply of time for make‐up, there’s no need to powder,
and sunscreen is built right in (SPF 22).

My thoughts: My foundation is currently from COVERGIRL (NatureLuxe) and I love it! Sometimes it is great to have a bit of foundation on to smooth and even out your skin. My face looks great with COVERGIRL!

Pass up the Powder: Cream blushes are a quick and simple way to achieve a bright and healthy‐looking complexion. Again, I recommend using your fingertips to blend a tiny bit onto the apples of your cheeks. COVERGIRL & Olay’s Simply Ageless line has a sculpting blush that helps contour cheekbones, and since it’s the same texture as the foundation, it won’t disturb coverage and blends seamlessly. For extra glamour, use a soft‐bristled brush to swirl the color onto the apples of cheeks and back toward the cheekbone for an airbrushed look.

My thoughts: I do like a bit of blush sometimes...especially if I am overtired or not feeling well. It gives nice color when I look washed out. I love the tips here for applying blush.
So, when preparing for your Mother's Day celebrations...please take some time to consider what COVERGIRL has to offer you. The new COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless line has some fantastic products to help you look your best!

  4. I'm like Darcy. I am sooo pale. My friends say that I am so pale that I reflect the light off of me. So foundation is something that usually doesn't happen. Then again, I haven't really looked lately.

  7. I was totally wondering why you had a picture of a man on your covergirl post! lol now I know!
I would love a foundation with the sunscreen built it, I never put sunscreen on my face, its greasy and I usually already have makeup on that I don't want to ruin.I'm going to look for that.
