Boon "Squirt" Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Caring for my babies is my number 1 job. I am their taxi, chef, maid, doctor, nurse, cook, dishwasher, laundry lady and most of all, their MOMMY. :) Being a mommy can be a difficult and downright messy job at times but thankfully...MOST of the time it is glorious and rewarding. I don't know what my life would be without my children. They are both such blessings in my life. When I was pregnant with my son, I could not imagine having enough love for two babies. Amazingly, my heart grew bigger when he was born and suddenly...my whole life was engulfed in so much love!

I am such an advocate of companies that are always coming up with new and innovative ways to help make my life easier as a mom! Boon is one of those companies. Their products are stylish, colorful and SO helpful! Today, I am going to introduce you to a product from Boon that is AMAZING and is a new favorite around here at meal times!
Boon carries a number of different products geared towards happy healthy parenting. It is also a company that supports several children's charities...which is very wonderful. Here is a bit more about Boon and its vision...


It's funny how such a simple thing can lead to so much. It all began with a messy toddler bathtub. Designer Rebecca Finell's wheels started turning and the Frog Pod was born.
But the problem solving didn't stop there. She had lots of ideas for other parenting innovations so she sought out a partner, Ryan Fernandez—who could create a successful business—and together they founded Boon Inc. Today Boon offers a wide range of products that help parents all over the world.

I think one of my favorite Boon products has to be the Bug Pod. This is a great bath time necessity that everyone should own! It is super cute and really handy to have. Scoop up your bath toys and store your soaps and shampoos for the next bath time!
For this review I had my choice of several items from Boon and I chose to review Squirt...the Baby Food Dispensing Spoon. Ok moms, listen up. I get SO TIRED of having to dip the spoon into the bowl, scrape it on the side of the bowl (usually getting the spoon handle all messy) and then having to refill it again. It just gets messy.
Squirt really cleans up meal times nicely! I was a little skeptical and my hubby kept saying "oh boy..another one of those 'really great' products that is a total waste of time and money". I mean, it does look strange but I wanted to know...does it REALLY work?
So, at dinner time while I was fixing Jacob's dinner, I let him touch, feel and taste his new spoon. He seemed to love it. Perk #1: Keeps baby occupied while you are fixing their food! The only down side of this spoon is filling it. I had a difficult time holding it with one hand and trying to dump/spoon the food in with the other. It doesn't have a flat end to set on the table so trying to fill it was a bit challenging.
Once the food was in the "bulb" (it holds up to 3 ounces of food), I just screwed the spoon end back on and dinner began! Just be aware that you can only use pureed foods with this spoon...larger chunks will get stuck. (I was able to give him applesauce with rice cereal blended in and that worked fine.) All I had to do was squeeze the blue part of the spoon and the food was dispensed through a small hole onto the spoon surface. It was SO easy and very tidy! I had no messy bowl and no sloppy spoon. Jacob woofed down his dinner so he really thought this was a great idea too!

Squirt comes with a cap to put on the spoon once you are done feeding so you can store the leftovers for later use. This whole spoon is dishwasher safe, BpA free, phthalate free and PVC free as well. Boon also recommends using Squirt on the go too...great idea! Forget packing up baby dishes when you are headed out the door. I love it! :)

This nifty feeding spoon comes in several different colors and can be purchased through Boon's website for $9.99.

So, in my opinion...Boon is a terrific company! I am just loving the Squirt Baby Food Dispensing Spoon! What a great idea it is...no mess, no fuss...just fill and go! The ease in which I can feed Jacob is awesome. This spoon is so easy to clean as well. I love it!

    I love the fluid sippy cup. And though I don't need this for myself. I think it would be a great baby shower gift for my two friends who are embarking on adopting a baby soon. Anything that can help will be a boon to these two new parents.

    WHere do I start on why i need this spoon.. I am a pregnant with my 2nd child after 13 years. They did not have these kinda spoons when i had my 1st baby. I think it is great for the kids to learn hot to eat themselves.
