"Dr. Jim & The Polestock Pest" Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

You all know by now that we love books here at our house! Hannah is enthralled with picture books...especially ones that contain real photos and animals. She can make all kinds of animal sounds too; so reading books with her is loads of fun. :)

A little over a month ago I did a review for "Dr. Jim & The Special Stethoscope", a super cute children's book about a young veterinarian who has the ability to understand pets' needs...beyond what the owners can understand. My daughter still loves to read this book and it gets pulled out of the bookshelf quite often! Well, the author of this book has authored a second book in the Dr. Jim series and I have the special privilege of introducing it to you today!
"Dr. Jim & The Polestock Pest" is another story of this young veterinarian who is called to a town called Polestock to figure out why the wild life that is around there is in such an uproar.

Before I get to far into my review, I will quickly give you some background about Scott Thomas Nicol, the author...

Scott Thomas Nicol was born and raised in New Jersey. Although he doesn’t write for a living (he works in the construction industry), he has always loved writing. “I would relish writing assignments in school. Even in college, I took creative writing courses as electives.”

Scott is married and has three beautiful children. “This whole story writing is, kind of, for them. I created these cute stories with them in mind."

I love how he writes for his children...that is so special. I am not a talented writer so I don't think I will be giving them a gift like that someday!
For this review I was sent the newly published "Dr. Jim & The Polestock Pest" book. I have to admit that the cover looked kind of scary with the red eyes peering out of the forest (Hannah does not like scary things!).
But, when I finally sat down to read the book I discovered what the eyes really were! I won't ruin it for you but will say that this is a cute book. My daughter LOVES Dr. Jim's stethoscope too! She recently had to go to the doctor herself and was not afraid of the doctor at all when she put the stethoscope on her chest!
Once again, the pictures in this book were very cute and colorful...I loved them. Hannah really enjoyed the book too...it now sits next to the other Dr. Jim book! :)

So, in my opinion..."Dr. Jim & The Polestock Pest" is a cute story. The pictures are colorful and Hannah really enjoyed reading this book. Scott did a great job and really is a wonderful author!

    Hey Uncle Scott! I loved this book, and I know my friend Blair's little sister did too, as well as Logan's friends across the street. I just wanted Dave to know that the drawings looked a tad hurried and that in some pictures, Dr Jim's eyes were more lime green colored than others where they looked more olive green. Other than that, I thought it was an amazing book, and I can't wait for more! :)
