We are in the process of selling our home and have been for about 3 months now. Actually, as of the day after Thanksgiving, we have SOLD our house and are in the process of MOVING within the next two months, hopefully. :)
Well, if any of you have ever sold a home before you know that it can really consume your mind and you can get very involved in the process. Trying to show our house was a lot of work for me because I had to constantly keep the house cleaner than usual in case anyone wanted to see it. This was difficult because we have three children, ages 4, 2 and 7 months. Children make messes and I was always running around and cleaning up after them.
One night, I was laying in bed before falling asleep and thinking about our house. I was thinking about how much I wanted it to sell and how great it would be when we would finally have a buyer. I fell asleep with that on my mind. Well, you know how sometimes you have dreams about what you have been thinking about in your life? That night I had a funny dream about our for sale sign. You know those Lawn Signs that Realtors put up in the front yard to show your house is for sale? I had a dream that some malicious person (not sure who it was) stole our for sale sign. Not only did they steal it, they smashed it and broke the post in pieces too! Oh my! In my dream, I ran outside and frantically tried to repair the sign so that if anyone drove by and was interested in our house, they would know who to call. I didn't want ANYONE to miss our sign!
I woke up in the morning and flung open my bedroom curtain...looking for our sign. There it was, securely and firmly planted in the front yard. It was in one piece and looked undisturbed. As I thought about my dream, I began to chuckle. It really showed me where my brain had been the past few months and when I told my Realtor about it, he thought it was very funny too!
I haven't had a dream like that since then, but have not forgotten that silly dream. Hopefully now my dreams will be of moving to a new house. :)
