Say "I Do" to Timeless Beauty With Mary Kay!!!

5:25 PM

Recently in the news there was a big hype about Kim Kardashian and her impending marriage. I do not keep up with celebrities and honestly do not know much about any of them. Some popular names pop up now and then I recognize them but most of the time I am pretty clueless. We don't have a television so that is part of the reason why I don't know much. The other reason is that I just cannot keep up because things are CONSTANTLY changing in the Hollywood world. This one broke up with that one and now that one is dating the other one...you know. :) It's a big soap opera! But from what I have seen, Kim's Kardashian's Wedding makeup looked pretty stunning on her wedding day. It wasn't caked on and looked very natural...kind of non-traditional for Kim.
So, how can you say "I Do" looking as great as Kim did? Well, I have some Mary Kay products to introduce you to today that can give you that same glow and beauty.
Mary Kay has always been on the top of my list for my cosmetics of choice. I don't have sensitivities to makeup which makes choosing my products simple. I look for quality, length of wear and color...obviously. My "look" usually is light and airy, complete with earth tones. My skin is fair so finding a foundation that doesn't make me look ghostly or un-naturally tanned is important as well. Mary Kay has always had something for me when it comes to my choices...which is why I love them!!!
So, for this review I was sent several Mary Kay products to try and I am impressed with all of them!! I was sent:

Lash Love Mascara (I Love Black Color)
Eyeliner (Deep Brown)
Cream Blush (Sheer Bliss)
Foundation Primer
Timewise Luminous-Wear Foundation (Ivory 2, Ivory 5, Beige 5 and Beige 6)
Mineral Eye Color (Cinnabar)
NouriShine Lip Gloss (Pink Diamonds)
The first thing that I did to achieve my look was to start off with the Foundation Primer. I had never used a primer before so was unsure as to what to expect. This Mary Kay Foundation Primer looks like a clear gel and feels soft, silky and smooth. I LOVE the way this feels on my skin!
Next, I applied the Timewise Luminous-Wear Foundation and the color I chose was Ivory 2. I think this was the lightest color that I was sent. It really evened out my skin nicely and felt great! I have alot of redness on my face due to Lupus so this made all of that redness go away...nice!
The next step was to apply the Cream Blush. The color I was sent (Sheer Bliss) was PERFECT for me. I used a cosmetic sponge to apply it and it took very little to add some color to my cheeks.

I always have trouble with my eyes and find it difficult to put just the right amount of eyeliner. Upon opening my Mary Kay Eyeliner, I found that the crayon part had gotten stuck in the lid...so I used a pair of tweezers to remove it and put it back in the applicator. I think this is why the liner went on heavier than normal. But, I was able to blot it a bit and get it looking lighter. The Lash Love Mascara is WONDERFUL! No clumping or smearing...it went on fabulously!
The Mineral Eyecolor was a bit darker than I prefer but again, I just put on a small amount and blotted out the  heavier areas. It is a very pretty color and helps make my eyes look smoky.
I love the Mary Kay NouriShine Lip Gloss! I am a huge fan of glosses over lipsticks and this was gorgeous! It has a bit of a shimmer to it which is eye-catching. The color is lovely, although a bit more pink than I usually use. I think this would make a wonderful color for spring time. It goes on really smooth and looks great on me.
Well, there you have it! That is how I achieved my look...shown above. You can see where I had a bit of trouble with the eyes but  with some practice, I think I could get the art of eye makeup finessed! :) Overall, I am pleased with how everything turned out. I am especially hooked on the Foundation Primer. That is pretty amazing stuff!

So, in my opinion...Mary Kay has yet again impressed me with their outstanding products! I am thrilled with the way I look in my makeup and am excited to see what hubby thinks! These products are recommended by me to any of you ladies out there looking to freshen up your look and look like a star! Check out Mary Kay's Virtual Bridal Makeover to see how you could look on your wedding day...pretty amazing! :)
