Holiday Gift Guide ~ Emmi-dent Ultrasonic Toothbrush

 

From the time I was a child, oral care has been a priority. My mom always made sure my siblings and I brushed at least twice a day...especially after eating candy or other sweet foods. We also saw a pediatric dentist for annual checkups. My parents realized the importance of good dental hygiene and made sure we were well taken care of. Now that I am a mom, I want to be sure my children get the same care I was given. I am also adamant about being a good example for them on how to properly care for your teeth. Before I bought either of them a toothbrush, they would stand on the toilet next to the sink and watch me brush. You can only imagine how excited they were when they were given their very own tooth brush! Now, I am working with them on how to properly brush and take care of their teeth.

Oral care is not a difficult thing to do...it just needs to be done right. Having the proper tools needed is also important and today, I am going to introduce you to a tooth brush that does it all!! This would also make a fantastic gift for anyone on your Christmas shopping list...especially for the person who is hard to buy for and has everything! The Emmi-dent Ultrasonic Toothbrush is an toothbrush that uses ultrasound to clean and whiten your teeth. I had never heard of anything like this before and it sounded very cool. I was thrilled when I learned that Emmi-dent wanted to be a part of my Holiday Gift Guide...what a great gift idea this is! I was even more thrilled when I learned that I would be receiving one of these Ultrasonic Toothbrushes to review and try.

So, for this review I was sent the Emmi-dent 6 Ultrasonic Toothbrush. I absolutely love the box it comes in...it looks so professional and fancy! My children loved the box too, by the way. :)

Upon opening the box I found the entire system laid out nicely, ready to be used. This toothbrush comes with a plug-in charger and doesn't require batteries. Once it is charged, it will hold it's charge for approximately 20 days of use before having to be recharged.

I also love how the charging station has a place to store the brush heads...this is fantastic! I think these heads would get lost easily if I didn't have a place to keep them so they were readily available. They don't just loosely set on the pegs either...it is a snug fit so they won't fall or get knocked off easily. I also like how the brush heads come with covers so they stay protected.

When using the Emmi-dent Ultrasonic Toothbrush, it is important to use the toothpaste that comes with the kit. This is special toothpaste that creates Nano Bubbles (1,000 times smaller than bubbles from regular toothpaste), which is key for creating all the millions micro-bubbles that are used in the cleaning process.

So, all you do is run the head under running water to wet the bristles. After applying some ultrasonic toothpaste to the bristles, spread the toothpaste over the inside and outside of your teeth (make sure the device is ON). Next, simply rest the brush head on the outside or inside of your teeth and let it rest against 2-3 of your teeth. You don't need to "brush" or move the toothbrush while holding it there. This was hard for me to get used to at first because I am so used to scrubbing my teeth. After you have done your whole mouth like this, rinse your mouth with water and then rinse the brush head and hand piece. You can rinse the brush head while it is still turned on. You don't have to worry about drying the brush head as the ultrasound will automatically disinfect the bristles.

Once you are done, you can place the brush back on the stand. I like to store my brush heads on the little pegs. As I have gotten older, my receding gums have become very sensitive. When I used this toothbrush, there was no pain and no bleeding...which is a common problem for me. I loved how clean and fresh my whole mouth (not just my teeth) felt. It was such a wonderful feeling and one that I haven't experienced in some time. Here are some more facts on why this toothbrush is superior to others...

The Emmi-dent Ultrasonic Toothbrush retails for $189.00 and can be purchased directly from their website. Honestly, the price is a bit too steep for me. But, for the person out there who is dealing with oral care issues and needs some help getting their teeth clean, this would definitely be a great investment. I do like that the unit is battery-free so I don't have to replace the batteries. That pretty much assures me that I will have it for life.

So, in my opinion...The Emmi-dent Ultrasonic Toothbrush is a fantastic product! Because of my sensitive teeth and gums, brushing has become rather unpleasant...until today! I am so glad I have had the chance to try out this toothbrush. It is definitely in a class all it's own! I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a better alternative to their ordinary toothbrush. AND, I would also recommend this product as a great gift idea for this up-coming Holiday Season. Give the gift of healthy teeth...it is the gift that will keep on giving for years to come!
