Ozeri Green Earth Smooth Ceramic Nonstick Frying Pan Review

|
I am not a picky person when it comes to my cookware. I guess it is because I grew up with ordinary, Walmart-brand pans and that is what I was always used to. Now and again though, I like to spoil myself with something a bit more expensive and durable. For Christmas last year I asked for some new frying pans because the ones I had were from my wedding shower 7 years ago and have been showing their age. Well, I got a LOVELY, heavy duty, non-stick skillet from my husband and I use it for EVERYTHING. My main problem right now is that I only have one small frying pan for making small servings of eggs, grilled, cheese, pancakes, etc. and I like to fix myself something once in awhile without using my huge skillet. Well, my littlest frying pan is getting super old and I have been on the lookout for a replacement.
May I introduce you to Ozeri? This company is one I have worked with in the past and truly, I love their products. I currently have their bathroom scale and it works great for us! To give you a bit more insight into this company, here is more information about Ozeri...

Ozeri products are found in vacation residences that span the globe, from majestic European estates, luxurious desert spa resorts, and private tropical resorts.  Ozeri products are of a pedigree for ultra-luxury markets we serve, where five-star residences are matched with the finest kitchen, bath, entertainment, and personal amenities. Ozeri is also an emerging brand in the consumer marketplace. Ozeri products are made available to the consumer through an efficient business model. Unlike competitive brands, with Ozeri products the final price borne by the consumer is not burdened by advertising, marketing and other traditional costs that support brand equity. The Ozeri brand is instead built on the relationships formed by touch-points that countless guests have with our products at vacation residences around the world.

One thing that I personally love about Ozeri's products is their individuality...each product is different and has some characteristic to set it apart from others in it's class. I was so excited to learn that they carried a smaller frying pan and was excited to be able to review this pan!
So, for this review I was sent the Ozeri Green Earth Smooth Ceramic Nonstick Frying Pan. One thing I fell in love with immediately was the size of this pan. It is 8" in diameter which is the PERFECT size to replace my poor little pan that has seen better days. So, what makes this pan so special??? Check it out...

Utilizing GREBLON a natural ceramic coating from Germany, the Green Earth Pan by Ozeri is one of the world's first frying pans to achieve non-stick perfection while remaining absolutely free of PTFE, PFOA and other harmful chemicals. Conventional non-stick cookware is achieved through a coating of PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene), a synthetic substance that has waxy properties. At very high temperatures, PTFE begins to decompose and release fumes which are documented to be lethal to birds and small pets, and which can be harmful to humans. In addition, traditional pans incorporating PTFE are manufactured with the aid of PFOA (PerFluoroOctanoic Acid), which the EPA has classified as a 'persistent pollutant of the environment'. With the Green Earth Pan's GREBLON ceramic from Germany, no harmful toxic fumes are ever released into the environment. This is because the Green Earth Pan utilizes a 100% ceramic coating derived from nature, and is completely free of PTFE and PFOA. The Green Earth Pan is made of the highest quality anodized aluminum that allows for even cooking and fantastic browning. It boasts a magnetized bottom for induction stoves, and a heat resistant silicone coated handle. This version of the Green Earth Pan features a textured ceramic cooking surface. The elevations of the textured cooking surface create air pockets which distribute heat underneath food to enhance cooking performance. GREBLON ceramic made by Weilburger GmbH, Germany.
As you can see, this is a very nice pan that will trump traditional non-stick pans any day. The other thing that really sets this pan apart from others is that you can use it in the oven and it is safe for use in temperatures 180 - 356 degrees. The silicone handle will be hot upon taking the pan out of the oven so make sure you wear an oven mitt. Obviously. :) This pan is green in color and adds a nice "pop" of color to any kitchen collection.
So, today I went to make grilled cheese and soup for lunch and was able to try out my new pan! It is the perfect size for a grilled cheese sandwich. Before using my pan for the first time, I first seasoned it with a small bit of oil, using a paper towel to coat the inside of the pan and then drying it off. It is recommended that you repeat this step periodically. The other thing that is recommended is to put the pan on a burner that is suited for the size of the pan and make sure flames do not come up over the edges of the pan. I chose to use a small burner for this purpose.
I cooked my sandwich on low heat and it cooked beautifully! The color was wonderful and the sandwich cooked very evenly too. I am very excited to use this pan for making eggs as well...I love eggs for breakfast and they should cook very nicely in this pan.

The Ozeri Green Earth Smooth Ceramic 8" Nonstick Frying Pan retails for $25.95 and can be purchased directly from Amazon. Be sure to check out all of Ozeri's other products on their website!
