Telestrations Review and Giveaway

9:20 PM

***GIVEAWAY CLOSED***

One thing that I love to do at family gatherings is play games. My mom is a Scrabble lover and so we have made it a tradition to always play Scrabble at get-togethers. Usually, I lose though. :(

I had to wait to post this review until a family get together (which was Christmas) so my sincere apologies to the company for having to wait a little while to see this review...I wanted to give a totally honest review about this game and knew that playing it with my family would be a perfect opportunity. It sure was worth the wait!!! :)
Have you ever heard of the Telephone Game? You know...you sit in a circle and tell someone something and as it gets around the room, the story changes. Well, this is a game that has the same concept, but you draw instead! This game is called Telestrations.
Telestrations is a PERFECT game for my family. We had such a blast!!! The design of Telestrations is made so you can play again and again without going through loads of paper in the process. It is made for 4-8 players and is perfect for ages 12 and up. There are 8 erasable sketch books, 8 dry-erase markers, and 8 clean up cloths.
Here is how it works:

Everyone that is playing draws a card from the box, then someone rolls the dice. Once the dice has stopped, you look at whatever number is up. Look at your card and find the word that coincides with the number on the dice. This is the word that you will have to draw. So, you open your sketch book and write your word in the circle. Then, you flip the page and DRAW the word on the next page. This is where things get interesting...I CANNOT draw. Most people can't, in fact! HA! When you are finished (or when the timer runs out) you flip your book to the next blank page and pass it to the next person sitting beside you. They then turn back one page, look at what you've drawn, and write in the blank circle what they THINK you have drawn. This goes on and on until you get your sketch book back. I gotta tell you here...I have never laughed so hard in my life! I can't draw...but neither can most of my family!!! I can't even tell you how many times we played...it was addicting! Even some of my brothers (who are not game people) joined in on the fun! I was told that once the sketch pad reached my hands, that is when the picture totally took a different direction! Hee hee! Hey, stick people are my forte'!!!
I am thinking that this will be replacing Scrabble or will be taking a very close second to it!!! My family and I definitely give Telestrations a HUGE thumbs up!

So, in my opinion...Telestrations is an awesome game. It is fast moving, non stressful and very funny. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great ice-breaker for a party or just for some laughs with family and friends! Great game! :)

  29. What I love about this game is the interaction between players. Everyone draws and everyone guesses what you have drawn. Since many
people can't draw, this game should be a hoot!

I also loved the "how to play" video on their web site - very cool!
