Dreaming of Central Air

11:21 PM

There are some days when I really REALLY miss the house we recently sold. Yesterday was one of those days. We have been experiencing some warm days around here but nothing prepared me for yesterday's temperatures. I had to run some errands in the morning so my mom came to watch the children so I could go a bit quicker. I wore a sweater on the way out the door but as soon as I reached my car, the sweater was off. It was GORGEOUS outside. By mid-morning, the temperatures were in the high 70's and I was getting warm. The worst part of it all was knowing that we had no EDS Air Conditioning. My previous home was older than the home we had now but it had central air.

When we moved into this house my husband and I knew we would not have the luxury of central air. So, we both agreed that this summer, we would save our money so that next summer we could have central air installed. Oh, how far away next summer seemed yesterday when I was opening all the windows in the house. I have learned one very important thing though...contentment will get you a long way. Being content no matter what situation I am in has really helped my outlook on life. For one thing, no, we don't have central air but we do have a window air conditioner that we can use and hubby has mentioned getting a few more when the weather gets really unbearably hot. That is a good reason to be thankful. We can still stay cool while we are waiting for our central A/C.

So, while this summer will probably be a real sticky one, I am sure I will survive. After all, I grew up in a house with no air conditioning of any kind and I lived to tell about it. Ha! I know I will survive this summer...even if it is a bit more difficult. I am going to try to be thankful no matter how warm it gets and just keep on dreaming of the central air that will be coming in the next summer!

This is a sponsored post however, all thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.

  1. Wow, I can totally relate. Our new house has awful air circulation and when it's really warm, there's just no way to stay cool if you don't want to stay in one room the entire day. I think you'll be okay with those installed window ACs but I know that those portable fans can sometimes be helpful. And you are completely right about contentment; sometimes we can get through the rough patches a lot more smoothly if we can trick our minds into believing we can.
