***GIVEAWAY CLOSED***
I am not necessarily a germ-o-phobe, but I do not like to be sick either! I do clean my house and make sure things are clean for my babies but I am not perfect...so things aren't spick and span 100% of the time. (Ask my hubby...he will tell you..hee hee!) When it comes to good healthy germ prevention, I LOVE any products that can assist me in that.
As I have written before, my two year old has horrible eczema...especially on her hands. She is constantly itching and making it raw and that makes me feel awful. I have a mysterious skin issue as well that looks like ring worm but I have never really had it looked at. It flares up but then will disappear. I treat it different ways but have never really gotten rid of it.
This next product that I have been sent to review seems like a great product for skin issues...especially because its main goal is to prevent MRSA. I have never had MRSA, and never WANT to have it either.
StaphAseptic is first aid antiobiotic and pain relieving gel that is specifically formulated to protect against MRSA. You can apply it to minor cuts, burns and scrapes; or in my case, to skin issues that are troublesome. StaphAseptic helps prevent skin infections from bacteria such as MRSA, staph, strep and other nasty germs. This special ointment also contains Lidocaine for pain relief.
Drug informationActive ingredients:Benzethonium Chloride 0.2%.... First Aid AntisepticLidocaine HCl 2.5%........... Topical Pain Reliever
Inactive ingredients:aminomethyl propanol, allantoin, carbomer, cocamide DEA, disodium EDTA, glycerine, polyoxyl 35 castor oil, purified water, tea tree oil, white thyme oil

When I used StaphAseptic, it smelled "mediciny" (is that a word???) but not in a bad way. I put it on my skin problem area and I felt a little burning sensation but nothing that made me want to pull my hair out (like...labor! HA!). Actually, the scent smelled almost like menthol...now that I think about it.
One of the things I really liked about StaphAseptic is that the container it comes in is child proof. My daugher loves lotion (or "ocean") as she calls it and she gets into everything that even LOOKS like lotion. So, I know that if I accidently leave this where she can get to it that she is safe. That is wonderful.
StaphAseptic is a proud sponsor of World MRSA Day and is a huge advocate of how to prevent MRSA. Here is what they recommend to help prevent the spread and contamination of MRSA:
- Treat and cover wounds
- Don't share personal items (like towels)
- Shower after physical activity
- Properly clean gear and equipment
- Keep hands clean
- Consult your physician for all active wounds
So, in my opinion...StaphAseptic is a truly fantastic product. It is one that every mom should have in her medicine cabinet for those bumps and knicks that children get.

Plain and simple: I love that it kills staph. My husband had a bout with it a couple months ago and it was very scary!
