Wholly Guacamole Review and Giveaway

Here in our home, we are big time snackers. My husband always says "Time to eat again!" right before he goes to bed...it's tradition!!! So, off to bed he goes carrying a plate of some type of snack. His favorite foods are usually hot foods to "warm up" his belly before dozing off for the night. HOW he enjoys this I don't know. Usually he brings in extra for me too but because I brush my teeth before crawling into bed I don't normally partake of his night time snacks. We LOVE salsa in our house too...it is just something that is always a part of our snacking. The best part about snacking on salsa is that it is usually healthy for you...which makes it all the more enjoyable!
This next review encompasses guacamole AND salsa...and my my-it is GOOD! I have heard of Wholly Guacamole before but had never tried it. So when the opportunity arose for me to conduct a review of their products, I was thrilled! Mainly because I have never had guacamole before and was interested to see what it was like.

Wholly Guacamole is exactly that...wholesome guacamole. Wholly Guacamole is made out of Hass Avocados, salt and various spices. The "meat" of the Avocado is scooped out and smashed very easily as it is soft and mushy. Then, when all the other natural ingredients are added, you end up with Guacamole.

Wholly Guacamole was invented by Don Bowden and here is his story...


In 1989, Dallas restaurant owner, Don Bowden began searching for a pre-made guacamole to serve in his Mexican restaurants. It had to be fresh-tasting and all-natural. The problem is that avocadoes start to brown as soon as you cut them open. He knew that solving this problem without using lots of additives and preservatives would not be easy. But to know Don is to love him; and if you know Don you know he doesn’t do anything the easy way. He does it the right way.
In his search, Don discovered High Pressure Processing (HPP) technology. It’s a process of preserving foods through the use of high-pressure water rather than with heat or chemicals and is used in the preservation of some meats and vegetables. With guacamole, the end product is a completely 100% all-natural, fresh tasting product that can be refrigerated for weeks and frozen for months. The salt in our product is used for flavor only. The HPP technology is also the reason our product is able to retain the same great taste, texture and natural vitamins while ensuring the highest level of food safety.
When Don helped HPP evolve in to what it is today, the process became known as “Fresherized”. Today, Fresherized Foods, home of Wholly Guacamole, is the world’s largest user of HPP.

So when you hear the term "Fresherized", you will know what it means now! I didn't know what it meant until I met Wholly Guacamole.
For this review I was sent all sorts of goodies! I was sent:

Classic Wholly Guacamole
100 Cal Snack Packs Classic Guacamole
Spicy Wholly Guacamole
Wholly All Natural Hot Salsa
Wholly All Natural Medium Salsa
I was also sent a foam avocado, but my son thought it was real and chewed it up. :( So, it didn't make a very good toy for him! Ha ha!
Hubby and I broke out the salsa first because when I told him that I had salsa to review, he was VERY excited. The Medium Salsa had just a bit of a bite to it but not enough to call it "hot". When Greg offered me some of the hot salsa I said "NO WAY!" I am not a fan of hot stuff. But, he insisted and I am GLAD he did! It was wonderful!!! Wholly Salsa is extremely fresh tasting and nice and chunky too. We really enjoyed that.
Hubby does not eat veggies of any size, shape or color so he was not interested in trying the guacamole. I did try it and having never eaten it before, I was not sure what to expect. My opinion of guacamole is that it is good, but not something that I would eat regularly. To me, the texture is a bit odd but the flavor is nice.I guess you could say that I am not a fan of the guacamole.
Wholly Guacamole has recently been featured on "The Biggest Loser", which speaks volumes of the nutritional content of this product! I think that is very commendable...way to go Wholly Guacamole!!!
So, in my opinion...Wholly Guacamole really has alot to offer for healthy snacking options. Although I was not a fan of the guacamole itself, I am totally in love with the salsa! I know that Avocados are great for my health and I do like them, I just don't LOVE them.
