"The Art Of Soy Container Candle Making" DVD Review and Giveaway

***Giveaway Closed***

Do I love candles? Ask anyone in my family and they will give you a resounding "YES" to that question! I am very fond of just about any candle, especially the ones that are scented. In fact, I have a candle burning now that has been burning all day. One of my favorite scents is vanilla or anything that smells like food!

When Laureen Falco contacted me about doing a review and giveaway of her DVD, The Art of Soy Candle Making, I jumped at the opportunity. Recently, I have discovered soy candles and am in love with them. They burn clean, evenly and slowly...which makes them last so much longer than paraffin candles. My husband got me my first soy candle for Christmas last year and ever since then, I prefer them above regular candles.
"The Art of Soy Candle Making" is a fun, educational and captivating DVD. Sometimes when you see an instructional DVD you think "Oh, this will probably be boring". Because soy candles are an interest of mine, I didn't think that at all. Especially when I watched this DVD. Laureen is very talented when it comes to keeping her audience's attention by the quick-moving scenes, great graphics and product knowledge. Too bad I live on the other side of the Country or I would take classes from her! I definitely learned quite a bit from this DVD.
She covers multiple subjects including choosing your wick(I didn't know that there were so many wicks from which to choose!), jar (container) selection, soy wax types, melting methods, fragrance oils and UV Inhibitors (I didnt' know there was such a thing available!). Each DVD also comes with a "Candle With Care" pamphlet outlining candle safety...which is extrememly important!!!
It was also very interesting to watch Laureen make the "Green as you can get" candles. I especially like the time-lapse that shows the candles hardening...very cool. Watching Laureen work is very calming and entertaining at the same time...especially when she tries to say "wick stickers"! You will just have to see it to understand what I mean. :)

This DVD comes with some bonus segments that I also enjoyed viewing. My favorite has to be the "Outtakes" bonus segment. It was fun to watch Laureen and her reactions to her little "slip-ups". I think it really personalizes the DVD to include something like this.
Some time in the near future, I would LOVE to make my own candles. What wonderful, homemade gifts and what tremendous options!

So, in my opinion, "The Art Of Soy Container Candle Making" is a wonderful and informative DVD that clearly instructs even the least-creative of us on how to make beautiful candles!

Laureen has offered to giveaway one of her DVD's to one of my readers...a retail value of $39.95!!!! I guarantee you will not be disappointed with her fabulous teaching ability and clarity, and with the fantastic opportunity to learn how to make your very own soy candles!!! :)

The Pickle Juice Company Review

How many of you are super athletic and active during the summer months? I used to be...prior to having children and now, it seems I chase them all around so that counts as something, right? One concern that many athletes and active people have during the summer is hydration and the risk of dehydration, especially if you live in a hot/tropical climate. We life in NY state so we have four full seasons, our summers can be hot and humid and if you are active, that can be challenging. This company specializes in gluten-free sports drinks that will stop muscle cramps in their tracks and keep you hydrated and refreshed no matter what activities you are participating in this summer! Carmex Healing Lotion & Healing Cream Review

Because I am a member of the Carmex Blog Squad , I am informed of and privileged to bring you reviews of Carmex's newest products! This is something that I have been doing for awhile and have really grown to love the Carmex brand. The newest products that have been introduced by Carmex are lovely and will definitely impress you as they have me. Because I am a mom, I wash my hands frequently. After diaper changes, before cleaning wounds, bathroom breaks, preparing food...all this requires clean hands. Because I usually apply lotion while I am moving and going from one thing to the next, I do not like a greasy lotion. I HATE applying a cream and having to "dry" my hands for the next half hour. What a perfectly good waste of time that is. So, I was wondering what Carmex would offer me in way of fast and quickly absorbing lotion. Before I continue, here is a bit more about Carmex for those of you who are new to their brand... Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1...
