We Bought A House!!!!

Back in August, we decided that we really needed to find a new house. Our current home is roughly 900 square feet and with three little ones (two running through the house and one crawling) our living space feels like it is shrinking. Realistically, purchasing a home through santa monica ca real estate would not be practical because it is on the other side of the country for us but having been to California, it would be a spectacular state to live in!! So, after having our house for sale by owner for a few weeks, we decided to step things up a bit and list with an agent.
This definitely was the way to go. Within the week of listing our home, we had numerous showings. Sadly though, no one put in offers. While we were disappointed, we knew that the right person would come along at the right time. So, we waited. While we were waiting, we also knew that we needed to find a new house too. This was a process that we were very excited about and I just loved going to different houses that we were interested in. There is just something so neat about walking through a house that isn't yours yet knowing that it COULD be yours, you know?
We looked at numerous houses and found several that we loved. Some of the things we wanted in a new home were more than 1,500 square feet of living space. We also wanted something somewhat secluded and maybe some acreage too.  There was one house that we were very interested in but it had no acreage. After discussing our other options, we decided that with my husband's busy schedule, it would be very difficult to keep up a lot of land and that we really didn't need as much land as we thought we did. So, we went ahead and put an offer in on the house.  Guess what? WE GOT IT!!! All 1,700 square feet of it too. :) We are thrilled and very excited too. :)

Now all we have to do is move. *grin*. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? That leads me to a quick question for all of you...what are your moving tips? I've never had to move before and could use suggestions. Any ideas on how to successfully move three children, pack, and not lose my mind? I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

  1. The house looks lovely! If you can get any help with packing or help with the children that would be great. It is a lot of work to move but once you are done you will be so thrilled! Lots of Luck!

  2. Congrats on your new home.. our first home was 900 sq ft also, with 4 kids to move.. we had a lot of family to help us... Just start packing away the things you don't use everyday and keep in mind you don't want any oversized boxes, it will be easier to put smaller boxes on the dolley.
Sooo Happy For You.. I know how it feels to move to a bigger home.

The Pickle Juice Company Review

How many of you are super athletic and active during the summer months? I used to be...prior to having children and now, it seems I chase them all around so that counts as something, right? One concern that many athletes and active people have during the summer is hydration and the risk of dehydration, especially if you live in a hot/tropical climate. We life in NY state so we have four full seasons, our summers can be hot and humid and if you are active, that can be challenging. The other issue that many run into is having a sports drink that can replenish and refresh their system that is gluten free and healthy for them too. Food allergies can limit the choices when it comes to hydration drinks. So, today I am going to introduce you to The Pickle Juice Company . This company specializes in gluten-free sports drinks that will stop muscle cramps in their tracks and keep you hydrated and refreshed no matter what activities you are participating in this summer! Before I continue wi...

Prem Soaps Review

I often love to highlight beauty and skin care products here on my blog and have been on the search for some really great and organic beauty companies to feature. When it comes to my skin (as I have said numerous times before) I am choosy as to what I use on it. Our skin really takes a beating...especially when exposed to the weather and indoor elements such as water, heat, cleaners and soaps . Have you noticed that most soaps today...even though they smell great...contain LOADS of chemicals and additives? I have, and honestly-it's scary. Think about it...your skin is like a giant sponge; what goes ON gets absorbed IN. So I think it is important to use only those products that will put goodness in...rather than chemicals. The other day I was searching the Internet for organic kitchen products . Specifically, I was looking for bamboo products, towels, dishes, etc. However, I was NOT prepared to find what I did! Prem Soaps is a little company nestled in Brooklyn, NY that...

Wholly Guacamole Review and Giveaway

***GIVEAWAY CLOSED*** Here in our home, we are big time snackers. My husband always says "Time to eat again!" right before he goes to bed...it's tradition!!! So, off to bed he goes carrying a plate of some type of snack. His favorite foods are usually hot foods to "warm up" his belly before dozing off for the night. HOW he enjoys this I don't know. Usually he brings in extra for me too but because I brush my teeth before crawling into bed I don't normally partake of his night time snacks. We LOVE salsa in our house too...it is just something that is always a part of our snacking. The best part about snacking on salsa is that it is usually healthy for you...which makes it all the more enjoyable! This next review encompasses guacamole AND salsa...and my my-it is GOOD! I have heard of Wholly Guacamole before but had never tried it. So when the opportunity arose for me to conduct a review of their products, I was thrilled! Mainly because I have ...
