This Week's Grocery Shopping Savings!

Well, as you all know I recently reviewed a book by Christi the Coupon Coach and let me tell you...I am having a BLAST using my coupons. My grocery store has loads of great sales and we are really enjoying the savings that we are experiencing. I now purchase 4 Sunday papers and thought I would feel really silly about it. But, I don't. What we do is buy one paper on the way to church and I review the coupons in the afternoon. If there are valuable coupons in that paper than we buy three more papers when we go on our shopping trip later in the day. This has worked SO well. I do my clipping and organizing after the children go to bed so I am not distracted and it takes about an hour to sort, clip and organize the coupons. NOT BAD! When I first heard about couponing, I was afraid that I would waste hours upon hours trying to get my coupons. After this weeks shopping trip, I am so sad that I never clipped and used coupons before now. Lesson learned...I am now a dedicated coupon clipper. Here is a quick photo of some of my great buys...
Kelloggs Pop Tarts - Assorted Varieties - 3 for $6
Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs - BOGO
Strawberries - BOGO
ACT Anticavity Mouth Rinse - Normally $4.99 - on sale for $3.99 - I used three coupons for $1 off each. Only paid $2.99 per bottle.
Muller Yogurt - 10 for $10 - I used a coupon for $1 off 4 and paid $.75 each.
YoBaby Yogurt - $2.99 each - I used 3 coupons for $1 off and paid $1.99 each.
St. Ives Apricot Scrub - $3.99 - I used a coupon for $.75 off which my store doubled and so I paid $2.49.
Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt 4 pk- $3.49 - I used three coupons for $1 off each and paid $2.49 each.
General Mills Cereal - On sale 3 for $5- I used 3 coupons for $1 off 3 boxes and paid $1.33/box.

We had more groceries than are in the photo, but I just wanted to show you some of my favorite deals. So, here is the run-down:

Total bill BEFORE discounts/coupons: $171.38
Total bill AFTER discounts/coupons: $115.54
Total saved this trip: $57.94

Tops had so many great deals this week...we really saved a ton! Hubby jokingly said that it would be great to get our bill under $80 a week. I think I can do it...and know that with time, couponing will get easier and better!

I am going to try and do this weekly, so if couponing and saving money interests you, be sure to check out my blog for more posts on the money we are saving and the fun I am having in the process! :)

  2. I am getting back into the habit of couponing. The savings are definitely worth it. We're planning on using the extra money we save to build up our down payment fund for a house and to continue paying off student loans and other debt.

The Pickle Juice Company Review

How many of you are super athletic and active during the summer months? I used to be...prior to having children and now, it seems I chase them all around so that counts as something, right? One concern that many athletes and active people have during the summer is hydration and the risk of dehydration, especially if you live in a hot/tropical climate. We life in NY state so we have four full seasons, our summers can be hot and humid and if you are active, that can be challenging. The other issue that many run into is having a sports drink that can replenish and refresh their system that is gluten free and healthy for them too. Food allergies can limit the choices when it comes to hydration drinks. So, today I am going to introduce you to The Pickle Juice Company . This company specializes in gluten-free sports drinks that will stop muscle cramps in their tracks and keep you hydrated and refreshed no matter what activities you are participating in this summer! Before I continue wi...

Carmex Healing Lotion & Healing Cream Review

Because I am a member of the Carmex Blog Squad , I am informed of and privileged to bring you reviews of Carmex's newest products! This is something that I have been doing for awhile and have really grown to love the Carmex brand. The newest products that have been introduced by Carmex are lovely and will definitely impress you as they have me. Because I am a mom, I wash my hands frequently. After diaper changes, before cleaning wounds, bathroom breaks, preparing food...all this requires clean hands. Because I usually apply lotion while I am moving and going from one thing to the next, I do not like a greasy lotion. I HATE applying a cream and having to "dry" my hands for the next half hour. What a perfectly good waste of time that is. So, I was wondering what Carmex would offer me in way of fast and quickly absorbing lotion. Before I continue, here is a bit more about Carmex for those of you who are new to their brand... Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1...

Cafe Press Review

Are any of you married to a computer guy ? Do you lovingly call him a "geek" sometimes? (my hand is raised here...LOL!) My husband is the most wonderful man in the world. He is funny, sincere, loving and VERY handy with the computer. I have issues sometimes with coding and am often heard calling "Honey? Can you come look at my blog? I don't know how to fix this!!!!" And, my charming prince comes to rescue me. My darling is going to be 31 in a week and I am SO excited to be able to celebrate another birthday with him. He also shares a birthday with our daughter which makes the day twice as fun. :) She has been talking about her birthday for WEEKS and cannot wait! This next review item is for him so if you know him (and I am hoping he doesn't read my blog for the next week :/) don't tell him about this!!!!!!!! If you are looking for perfect, unique and personalized gifts for someone special in your life I will tell you that after this post, you...
