Holiday Gift Guide ~ Goat Milk Stuff Soap Review & Giveaway

12:01 AM

The other day, I went on a shopping outing with my sister in law (and our babies came too!). We went to a huge shopping mall and our first stop was the jewelry store where hubby and I purchased our wedding rings. I go semi-annually to get my diamonds inspected and I was due for a check up on my ring. As we were standing at the counter, my sister in law was lamenting the fact that she cannot wear jewelry any more because she has developed an allergy to metal...any metal. She gets horrible eczema on her hands and anywhere else jewelry touches her skin. She has had nothing but trouble with her eczema and has become very frustrated. I know all too well about the effects of eczema. Two of my three children have had eczema and it is very bothersome to them. I am now dealing with my 6 month old and his baby eczema is in his scalp and behind his ears. It became so bad that he was actually digging his skin open and bleeding. I have been putting cream on him religiously and it seems to be helping...but I want a CURE!! Well, in thinking of holiday gifts, how about the gift of healthy skin? I would LOVE that!
Today, I am going to introduce you to a family owned and operated company that has received rave reviews for their goat's milk soap. Goat Milk Stuff is a company that was started by Jim and PJ Jonas after PJ was bathing the children one day and was concerned with the chemicals in the soap they were using. This began their journey into making their own soap...from their very own, homegrown goats milk! Here is a bit more about this sweet family and their desire to help others!
We seek to honor Jesus in all that we do and that plays a big role in our family and our business. Our children (all eight of them) are taught "everything is a God issue" — including making and selling soap. We believe these values come through in the goodness of our products and the excellence of our customer service and we hope you will agree.

Our adventures into soapmaking originated in 2006 out of my (PJ's) desire to not use chemicals on the children’s skin. I wanted a natural soap that would moisturize their skin and last a long time. After making my first batch of soap, I put a bar into the shower. Jim's fingers soon stopped cracking and splitting. Since this was a problem he had suffered with for years, I knew I had something special.

Since I enjoyed making soap and was so impressed with its quality, I turned it into a family business. In 2008, Goat Milk Stuff was born, and I drafted the entire family into my adventures. We all agree that getting to work together as a family (despite occasional squabbles) is the best part of Goat Milk Stuff. And we do work hard. From the initial milking of the goats to the final bagging of the soap, all our goat milk soaps are handmade by the members of our family.

I was immediately impressed with this family's belief in God, their commitment to values and their togetherness when running their business. It is so great that they involve each of their children in the business...even the littlest ones have a job to do! The work ethic in the Jonas family is strong...and it shows. As a home school graduate myself, I was also really tickled to see that they are also a homeschooling family! YAY! I wanted to quickly share a little video with you that shows what each member does...so cute!!
So, for this review I was sent some really lovely products from Goat Milk Stuff and I have to tell you, it is truly good "stuff"!
I was sent three bars of soap and a lip balm. The soap I chose to receive was the Cranberry Spice, Peppermint Essential Oil and Lemongrass Essential Oil scents. As soon as I opened my box of soap when it arrived, I could immediately smell the soap and boy did it smell wholesome and wonderful!!
I love how they swirl the top of the soap to make it look creamy...it adds so much to the looks of the soap! Homemade soaps have to be my favorite. There is just something about the scent, feel and look of homemade soap that makes it so unique and authentic.
The Peppermint Essential Oil soap is my absolute favorite. This soap contains dried peppermint leaves and peppermint essential oil as well and is so fragrant! It also foams and bubbles so beautifully.
Like I said before, my 6 month old suffers from painful and bothersome eczema on his scalp and ears. Tonight I gave him a bath and used this soap. It was so gentle on his skin...he was so cute after his bath!! His hair was all fuzzy and standing straight up on his head. He also smelled amazing. I have always believed that goats milk soap is good for the skin, I have just never tried it before.
The other thing about Goat Milk Stuff is that their prices are VERY affordable. I am seriously considering becoming a permanent customer. After seeing how great my son's skin looked and felt after using this soap, I am willing to do whatever it takes to keep his skin beautiful, healed, itch and pain free.
I also really loved the Honey Lip Balm. I have only ever eaten raw honey and that is exactly what the flavor of this lip balm is! Sooo yummy. It smooths on nicely and stays put for a good amount of time. My lips felt moisturized, protected and very soft after using this balm. Goat Milk Stuff Lip Balms (which are hand-poured) retail for $3 and there are six flavors from which to choose.
Goat Milk Stuff Soap prices vary depending on if you want half bars or whole bars. Two of the ones I received for review were half bars and are still a good size even though it isn't a full bar. They also sell soaps for poison ivy, pets and shaving...among other things. If you would like more information about Goat Milk Stuff you can visit them on their website, or check them out on Facebook and Twitter. They have some really cute videos on YouTube as well. I have been enjoying perusing their channel. :)

So, in my opinion...Goat Milk Stuff is an amazing company. I have found their soap to be such a comforting relief for my son's eczema. He hasn't itched his skin since his bath and I know it is from the soap! This holiday season, give the gift of soft, healthy and glowing skin. Visit Goat Milk Stuff and check out their lovely offerings for this season...or any time!
Goat Milk Stuff has offered to give away a $25 Gift Certificate to one of my readers! Here are your entry options...
