My husband always makes sure my day is special too and I so appreciate his thoughtfulness  Honestly though, I can't wait until my children are old enough to do something on their own...it will be so cute to see all the things they come up with! Well, if you are beginning the search for a unique yet perfect Mother's Day gift I want to introduce you to a company that carries some of the most darling hair, fashion accessories and jewelry I have ever seen! Ever Try A Low Carb Diet?

Soooo, I think we are about a month away from our big weigh in date. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, my siblings and I are in a weight loss competition in honor of my brother's June wedding. The winner will get a $120 VISA gift card so needless to say, I have been busting my chub here. :) Losing weight is NOT easy and is something I have tried to do for years. I have to say though that this attempt has been good. I have been successful in so many ways and feel better already. In thinking along the lines of dieting, have you ever tried a low carb diet? Carbs are pretty nasty critters...they turn into sugar, which translates to calories which in turn ends up making you fat. Yeah, not good. I think the hardest part about eating low carb is actually finding food that is good to eat. I found some great food here at PB2 and some of it looks pretty yummy! That is the second problem with low carb diets...food that TASTES good and not like sawdust. I have ...

Have You Ever Been in a Car Accident?

Goodness...since I have been a registered driver I have had several car accidents. Thankfully, none of them have required Personal Injury Attorneys  and have just been fender benders. My first automobile accident occurred when I was on my lunch break while at my job. I had gone to a drive through and was exiting the parking lot. I was making a left hand turn into a turning lane...the road onto which I was turning was a four lane highway. So, I was making a left hand turn and the car opposite of me was making a left hand turn also into the same turn lane. When I got a break in traffic to make my turn, the other driver must have gotten a clear break too because we met in the middle...literally. It was pretty scary. All I remember thinking was "oh man, that sounded bad". Well, both of us got out of our cars with other cars zooming by us and surveyed the damage. My back, passenger wheel was pretty banged up and the bumper was mangled quite a bit. Rats. I guess I would be late ...

Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts Review & Giveaway

When it comes to eating healthy some people are just better at it than others. I had big dreams of my family eating healthy way before my first child was born. Then, I met my husband. He is the poster child for the "I HATE VEGETABLES" club. He will eat no veggies whatsoever and to this day, that really doesn't bother me. What does bother me though is the fact that my children are now following in his footsteps. I offer them veggies at dinner but they don't usually eat them. As a mom, this can be worrisome and I know that if they don't eat their veggies, they can be deficient in many vitamins. So, it is my goal to get them to eat veggies in some way, shape or form. Recently while I was on Twitter, I noticed a company called Voots and because the name is unusual, I did a bit more investigating. Come to find out Voots is a company that makes Veggie-Fruit Tarts for children and adults! Whoa...this seemed just a bit too good to be true. One small tart will help ...

Decorating Ideas

We bought a new house back in January and I am pretty sure I am driving hubby nuts with all of my suggestions for improvements. The first thing he told me was to make a list of what needs to be done and we will do projects as money allows. Oh dear...my list is very long at this point and we have only been here for 3 months!! Thankfully most of the projects are easy to do and low-cost so the bigger items will be pushed back until we get the smaller ones out of the way. You know, I am seriously thinking about having Atrium Wallcoverings put on my walls in the entry way of the house. They look so beautiful and having textured walls would be amazing. For other decorating ideas, I have been wanting to do some painting as well. My nursery right now is a brownish/beige/salmon color and I am wanting to transform it into a classic Winnie the Pooh theme. My nursery at the old house was a Pooh theme and I loved it. I have already purchased my light blue paint and wall border so now all I have...

Parnevu T-Tree Hair Care Products Review

I have always loved having long hair. I went through a phase (I think all people with long hair do) where I was chopping my hair short into bob styles and really did like it shorter. Because my hair is thick, having it shorter makes it much easier to manage and styling is a breeze too. Since I have been married, my husband loves long hair so I have not chopped it in over 6 years. I have had it trimmed but not cut short...he would absolutely die if I did that. Sometimes I color my hair too because I have so many white hairs that show up unexpectedly...my grandmother was completely white at 28 years old so I guess the white hair is hereditary. Bummer. Anyway, I love using different shampoos on my hair and doing reviews gives me the opportunity to try out new products and brands and I have really found some great hair care products through these past few years of doing reviews. Today, I am going to introduce you to Parnevu...a company that uses luxurious T-Tree Oil in their hai...

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your day and that you are getting outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather! Fun Physical Activities for Young Children  from Dr. Craft's Active Play Books ! I have been a parent for 4 1/2 years and it never ceases to amaze me how much energy my children have. Being a parent has taught me patience, love, charity, gentleness, understanding and LOADS of creativity. Children (especially mine) can get bored very quickly and it doesn't take long for that boredom to create some mischievousness. This is why I am so thankful for curriculum that helps me to come up with creative and fun ways for them to expend their energy all while learning and having a great time! Dr. Craft's Active Play Books is a book that is chock full of 52 activities that you can use to encourage yo...

Dreaming of Central Air

There are some days when I really REALLY miss the house we recently sold. Yesterday was one of those days. We have been experiencing some warm days around here but nothing prepared me for yesterday's temperatures. I had to run some errands in the morning so my mom came to watch the children so I could go a bit quicker. I wore a sweater on the way out the door but as soon as I reached my car, the sweater was off. It was GORGEOUS outside. By mid-morning, the temperatures were in the high 70's and I was getting warm. The worst part of it all was knowing that we had no EDS Air Conditioning . My previous home was older than the home we had now but it had central air. When we moved into this house my husband and I knew we would not have the luxury of central air. So, we both agreed that this summer, we would save our money so that next summer we could have central air installed. Oh, how far away next summer seemed yesterday when I was opening all the windows in the house. I have ...

Citizen Chef Fresh Cooking Sauces Giveaway!

Several weeks ago I wrote a Citizen Chef review and mentioned that there was going to be a giveaway..remember? Well, I haven't forgotten and wanted to welcome the weekend in with this fantastic giveaway! Before I do though, let me just recap with a few more photos of more cooking I have done with these sauces. We have fallen in love with a fantastic Taco Pizza recipe made with crescent rolls and topped with oodles of goodies. Green onions, tomatoes, refried beans, black olives, lettuce, sour cream and so much more make this recipe to DIE for. Being that this is a new favorite dish for us I thought it would be the perfect time to try out the Chipotle Adobo Fresh Simmer Sauce from Citizen Chef . To prepare it, all I did was bring it to a low simmer in a small saucepan on the stove. Then, I drizzled my taco pizza with it. THAT IS IT! How easy could that be? This sauce is not spicy at all which is what I love about it. It has a tiny bit of a zing to it but not so much that...
