PlantFusion Cookies N' Creme Flavored Drink Mix Review & Giveaway

12:30 AM

I am a smoothie lover...I have been for several years now. Whenever I am trying to lose weight or just get some extra fruits and veggies in me, a smoothie is typically where I will turn. Smoothies are soooo good for you...especially the green smoothies. Another reason I love making and drinking smoothies is because my children do not eat veggies and really need that nutrition. So, as soon as I found out that they liked smoothies, I gave them green smoothies (but usually added blueberries so they would look purple instead of green...colors mean something ya know!). Drinking smoothies was another thing that I did when I was pregnant. I was so sick when I was expecting Isaac, protein was the only thing I could drink. I would buy protein shakes and have one for breakfast every morning in hopes of staving off the morning sickness. Some mornings it would work, some mornings it would not work. I had to try though.
Recently, I discovered a company that makes pure plant-based protein shakes! Their formula is in powder form and is similar to whey protein powder. I was really excited to find this company because I am on a diet again and am trying to add more healthy foods to my diet. I am also struggling with eating a healthy breakfast and wanted to get back into drinking my smoothies. PlantFusion makes a dairy free, soy free, gluten free and hypoallergenic plant-based protein drink mix that is amazing. Before I continue, here is more about PlantFusion...

PlantFusion is nature's most complete plant protein. It combines the latest advancements in protein technology to provide an ALLERGEN FREE, EASY TO DIGEST PROTEIN. Our proprietary blend is formulated to provide a complete protein with an optimized amino acid profile that is infused with Branded Chain Amino Acids & L-Glutamine to support muscle strength and connective tissue health. In addition, PlantFusion contains a proprietary enzyme blend which supports easy digestion and maximum absorption. This is the only protein of its kind on the market today.

I have never tried the whey powders before but they always smelled nasty so I never wanted to try them. PlantFusion has come up with a new flavor called Cookies N' Creme and this is in addition to their four other flavors: Unflavored, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Raspberry and Chocolate. These don't sound like healthy drink flavors to me...they sound like milkshake flavors!!
So, for this review I was sent sample packets of PlantFusion in their 4 flavors as well as a 1 pound canister of their newest flavor, Cookies N' Creme! Having never tried this brand before, I was very excited about tasting these. They all sounded so yummy!
This morning, I decided to try the PlantFusion Cookies N' Creme. Upon opening the container, I stuck my nose in and took a big whiff. Wow...it smelled sooo good! It actually smelled edible! LOL! I noticed that this powder is VERY powdery. I accidently dropped the scoop in the container and it "foofed" everywhere. I was much more careful after that. :)
All I did to make my shake was fill a tall shaker glass with cold water. Then, I added one scoop of powder and shook it vigorously for about 5 seconds. When I poured it into the glass, it looked exactly like you would expect a milkshake to look. Frothy on top and chocolate underneath that. Because it wasn't quite as cold as I like, I did add some ice. The flavor of PlantFusion is wonderful. You can definitely tell that you are drinking a plant-based beverage, but it is not an unpleasant flavor at all. I thought I would drink it quickly but it actually took me awhile because it is a thick drink.
As usual, when my daughter saw me enjoying my shake this morning she had to try it too. So, I gave her the glass and let her have a taste. And another taste, and another taste. She enjoyed it very much! I would have given my son a taste too but he has a cold soooo, no sharing with him. Maybe another day.

After finishing my Cookies N' Creme PlantFusion drink I was full. There was no desire to eat anything else and I was satisfied. This seriously could become a good breakfast option for me as it has so much in it. I am especially pleased to see that there is 21g of concentrated protein in one scoop...that is fantastic! Because I am breastfeeding, good nutrition is important and I know I am getting good things through PlantFusion!
PlantFusion retails for $26.99 for a 1 pound container. Again, you have your choice between their newest flavor - Cookies N' Creme and their other flavors: Chocolate, Unflavored, Chocolate Raspberry and Vanilla Bean. Honestly, my favorite so far is the chocolate because I am a chocolate lover. You can also find PlantFusion on Facebook and Twitter so be sure to check them out there for more news and information.

So, in my opinion...PlantFusion is a wonderful product! I love how I can get all of my protein nutrition in one drink, and that there is variety when it comes to flavors. It is also nice to know that I can give my children a little boost now and then too...if it tastes good, they are sure to want more! I am definitely going to recommend this to anyone; especially vegans and vegetarians. This has EVERYTHING you need without using an animal product. I love it!

  2. I love that they used amaranth and qunioa protein, both are great seed proteins, that most people wouldn't even think that have much protein in them. I also like that it is infused with BCAAs, some of the building blocks that help our muscles recover.

  12. Wow, that looks good! In our house we are strongly encouraged to drink protein shakes, esp. us older children - but the stuff is awful! This actually sounds good and edible :)

  13. The fact that this is gluten, dairy, and soy free is huge (as I am on a restricted diet for all 3 items!) I also like that they use quinoa and amaranth protein! Thanks for the opportunity :) I'm a big cookies n' creme fan, so that's an extra bonus...

  24. I learned that 2% of adults and 5% of children suffer from food allergies. I wonder if that discrepancy means that most kids outgrow their allergies, or are more people suffering from food allergies these days? With GMOs and other harmful additives, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the latter.

  31. As a vegan athlete, I literally cannot recover from my daily workouts without Plantfusion products. I have tried so many other vegan protein powders over the years, and they have either tasted terrible, been derived of soy, not had enough or the right protein/other nutrients, or had a texture that ruined the consumption (sorry, hemp). These powders make fantastic shakes, but they are also great for adding into oatmeal! I often add a scoop to organic oats after I cook them, to change the flavor. (Don't cook the oatmeal with the mix in it, or you may risk losing nutritive value). I have also made vegan no-bake cookies with Plantfusion, and vegan ice cream!
