Victor Tri-Kill Mouse Trap Review & Giveaway {2 Winners}

11:38 AM

I have never had to deal with a mice problem in my house (that I knew of) until we moved into our new house. My old house obviously had some mice in the basement because we found alot of mouse droppings in the corners of the basement...but I never saw them. Mice don't really bother me, meaning if I see one I don't go screaming for the nearest piece of furniture to stand on. :) However, I don't like the idea of them being in my personal space and getting into my food. That's disgusting. One morning about two weeks after we moved, I found a bag of bagels that had been opened at the wrong end of the bag. In my haste, I immediately asked myself why my husband would open the wrong end of the bag. Ha ha...it wasn't him. After inspecting the bag more carefully, I discovered that the bag had actually been chewed through completely and one of the bagels inside the bag had been eaten...almost entirely. That was the last straw. I had MICE in my kitchen, on my counter tops  YUCK. Mouse poop was everywhere and I had to totally disinfect my whole kitchen. I knew I had to do something fast.
Well, I was so thrilled to find out about these new Tri-Kill Mouse Traps from Victor...they were brought to my attention just when I needed them! In case you don't know about Victor, they are a world leader in rodent control. Here is a bit more about this company...

Recognized as a world leader in rodent control, Victor® has been a trusted brand for more than 100 years. The company revolutionized rodent control in 1890 with the invention of the spring-based Victor mouse trap.  Today, Victor has produced more than one billion of the iconic mouse traps and now offers the broadest line of rodent control products on the market including traps, repellents and poison.

I have seen Victor's products around but never have tried them before. When I first discovered my mouse problem I went out and purchased mouse poison. Since I have seen evidence of the mice eating the poison, I haven't seen evidence of mice...which is a good thing. However, I was still wondering if there were a few little four-footed rodents in my house.
So, for this review I was sent a Tri-Kill Mouse Trap. Right away, I opened it and read the instructions. As with most mouse traps, I was worried that this one would be like the spring loaded ones and snap my fingers if I made the wrong  move. Ha ha. This trap is not like that at all.
The Tri-Kill Mouse Trap has three different entrances...however, the mice don't ever get fully inside the trap. They are stopped mid-entrance and are humanely killed instantly when the bar is triggered. All you need to do is make sure all the tabs on the top of the trap are pressed down when you set up your trap. When a mouse enters, the tab will pop up.
To attract the mice to your trap, simply put peanut butter in the designated area on the underside of the trap. This is the bait.
What I really like about this trap is it contains no chemicals or poisons and is totally safe for use around children and pets. It is also designed to sit flat against the wall, which is where mice like to run. This also ensures an accurate placement. I thought this was really ingenious. When you do catch some mice you can either throw the entire trap away or just empty it and re-use it...which is also nice and cost-effective.

As of today, I have not yet caught any mice...which is a GOOD thing because I know that for now the mice are pretty much gone. I know this trap will work, and the warmer weather is coming which means mice will be looking for a place to make their nests and have babies.  Goodness knows they know how to get into my house so this trap will be waiting when they decide to come and visit. The Victor Tri-Kill Mouse Trap retails for $14.99 for a 3-pack on Victor's website http://www.victorpest.com/.
So, in my opinion...I love the design and concept behind this new Tri-Kill Mouse Trap from Victor. I think it will really come in handy and a cannot wait to see it in action! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a rodent problem in their home...it's a fantastic way to catch and kill mice!

  9. I also have the same issue, moved to a new home from the desert where scorpions were an issue, to the mountains where mice and rats are an issue. I've been cleaning up the neighborhood with the old steel and wood spring traps, much to my finger's displeasure. These would be nice as I've been getting 3-4 a night over winter in my water heater closet, and one trap would be much better than 3-4! Will have to try these out! Though won't help with the packrats that seem to love my garage...

  16. My aunt had also a mice problem in her basement an garage. One day she was sucked up spiders and cobwebs in the garage. So she found in one corner behind the plastic bags a mouse nest. Two mice ran away but my aunt was faster with the vacuum tube and sucked up the mice (with a nasty loud noise) in the dust bag (the bigger on was stuck for a short time in the hose, urrrgh) and trapped also the other mice in the nest. After vacuuming we checked the full dustbag, but no mice were alive in it.
