Holiday Gift Guide ~ Plow & Hearth Review

There is nothing like decorating your home for the holidays. I have always enjoyed doing this and am really looking forward to a more simpler decor' this year. Several years ago, we decided that we no longer wanted to get a Christmas tree. It was getting so expensive to buy a tree (and I would NEVER get an artificial tree...ever!) and because we have small children it would be difficult to keep them "out" of the tree. Looking back, that was one of the best decisions we have ever made. I don't miss having a tree at all. The holidays are so much simpler. I do put up garland and pretty lights though and this is enough for my children to get excited about Christmas. This year, I am going to decorate my house in pine boughs, white lights and candles. I have been on the look out for forest themed decorating items this fall and have been really getting excited about how festive my house is going to look.
Plow & Hearth is a company that I have worked with in the past and I was thrilled to find that they offer a huge selection of holiday home decor items. Plow & Hearth's Holiday Shop is always open and you can be sure you will find something for everyone (including your furry friends!). Before I continue though, here is a bit more about this fun, practical and always-unique company...

What began as a small retail store in Madison, Virginia, in 1980 has grown to include our flagship brand, Plow & Hearth®, plus two others that have joined our family during the past quarter century. Plow & Hearth offers unique, high-quality products for home, hearth, yard and garden. Problem Solvers® provides practical solutions for everyday living. Wind & Weather® offers a complete selection of indoor and outdoor weather-related instruments and gifts, plus elegant home and garden ornaments. The Plow & Hearth family of brands also has a growing list of retail stores.

As we have grown, we have remained dedicated to the same principles that have guided us from the beginning and to which we attribute our enduring success: honesty, integrity and most importantly, our commitment to customer service. We treat our customers like neighbors and friends. We offer only products we would use ourselves, at fair prices.

Upon visiting Plow & Hearth's website, I was immediately taken in by all of their items that are showcased for the Holidays. Wow!! It was sooo hard to pick out just one product that I liked. I finally decided, and have the privilege of sharing my product with all of you today.
So, for this review in my Holiday Gift Guide, I chose to review the Metal Pine Cone Candle Holder. This was an item that I thought would fit perfectly with my decor this season...and I was right!
This candle holder is very different. It was wrapped up carefully in bubble wrap and cardboard to protect all the metal ends. Every inch of this holder is solid metal...and when I say solid, I mean SOLID. Some of the holders themselves were a bit off balance when I got it all unwrapped so I had to physically bend them so a candle would sit flat and not at an angle...this took a bit of muscle on my part! This wasn't a bad thing...it just reinforced to me the sturdiness of this product!
I really love the detail. The look of this candle holder is very rustic and would fit perfectly on a mantle, bookshelf, table or dresser and it would really look great in a cabin! Each pine cone looks like it is dusted with snow and the pine needles are painted green. You can bend them as well to make them look how you prefer. Mine took just a little bit of "fluffing".
I have a beautiful wooden shelf above my piano that I decorate for each season. This Metal Pine Cone Candle Holder looks sooo pretty on my shelf! What I also like about this product is that you can put whatever color candle you want on it. In the photo on the website, they used cream colored pillar candles. Well, I didn't have any cream colored candles on hand so I used red. I think it looks nice, don't you?
Please visit Plow & Hearth's website. While you are there, check out their other wonderful Holiday gift ideas...they have so much to choose from! You will be sure to find something for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list (I have several of those).  Also, make sure you check out Plow & Hearth's social media sites including Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter! They would love to have you visit. :)

So, in my opinion...Plow & Hearth is a fantastic resource for your Holiday shopping this year. I love this Metal Pine Cone Candle Holder and think it would make a perfect gift. However, I am not giving it away...I am going to keep it. :) I would definitely recommend this and all other products from Plow & Hearth. Happy shopping!!

Disclaimer: I received no monetary compensation for this post.I did receive a free Metal Pine Cone Candle Holder for review purposes. All quotes and stock photos are from the Plow & Hearth website and email. Prize is being provided by the sponsor.  All thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.

The Pickle Juice Company Review

How many of you are super athletic and active during the summer months? I used to be...prior to having children and now, it seems I chase them all around so that counts as something, right? One concern that many athletes and active people have during the summer is hydration and the risk of dehydration, especially if you live in a hot/tropical climate. We life in NY state so we have four full seasons, our summers can be hot and humid and if you are active, that can be challenging. The other issue that many run into is having a sports drink that can replenish and refresh their system that is gluten free and healthy for them too. Food allergies can limit the choices when it comes to hydration drinks. So, today I am going to introduce you to The Pickle Juice Company . This company specializes in gluten-free sports drinks that will stop muscle cramps in their tracks and keep you hydrated and refreshed no matter what activities you are participating in this summer! Before I continue wi...

Carmex Healing Lotion & Healing Cream Review

Because I am a member of the Carmex Blog Squad , I am informed of and privileged to bring you reviews of Carmex's newest products! This is something that I have been doing for awhile and have really grown to love the Carmex brand. The newest products that have been introduced by Carmex are lovely and will definitely impress you as they have me. Because I am a mom, I wash my hands frequently. After diaper changes, before cleaning wounds, bathroom breaks, preparing food...all this requires clean hands. Because I usually apply lotion while I am moving and going from one thing to the next, I do not like a greasy lotion. I HATE applying a cream and having to "dry" my hands for the next half hour. What a perfectly good waste of time that is. So, I was wondering what Carmex would offer me in way of fast and quickly absorbing lotion. Before I continue, here is a bit more about Carmex for those of you who are new to their brand... Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1...

Cafe Press Review

Are any of you married to a computer guy ? Do you lovingly call him a "geek" sometimes? (my hand is raised here...LOL!) My husband is the most wonderful man in the world. He is funny, sincere, loving and VERY handy with the computer. I have issues sometimes with coding and am often heard calling "Honey? Can you come look at my blog? I don't know how to fix this!!!!" And, my charming prince comes to rescue me. My darling is going to be 31 in a week and I am SO excited to be able to celebrate another birthday with him. He also shares a birthday with our daughter which makes the day twice as fun. :) She has been talking about her birthday for WEEKS and cannot wait! This next review item is for him so if you know him (and I am hoping he doesn't read my blog for the next week :/) don't tell him about this!!!!!!!! If you are looking for perfect, unique and personalized gifts for someone special in your life I will tell you that after this post, you...
