Graco Swivi Seat High Chair Review

5:09 AM

I became a mother in 2008 for the very first time. During my pregnancy, I remember how excited I was to go set up my baby registry and pick out things for my new baby. Being a first time mom can be so overwhelming and stressful, it can be easy to get lost in all of the gadgets and gizmos that involve a new baby. My baby showers were amazing. I think I had three in total. Everything I received was perfect and I truly felt prepared for my little one when she arrived. Now I am a mom to four little ones and as the years have passed, all my once-new items are now well used. My high chair is worn out and I don't even have my original pack and play. Everything I have has come in handy for each baby and I love getting out my stuff when a new baby comes along. It brings back such wonderful memories.
One company that I am a HUGE fan of when it comes to baby gear is Graco. I currently own a Graco swing, a Graco infant car seat and all my toddler car seats are Graco branded as well. If someone were to ask me what brand I prefer, it would definitely be Graco. The swing I have is six years old and was battery powered, but since I used it so much my father converted it over to an A/C adapter and that has been a life saver. I is still going strong! My current baby loves the swing and is, unfortunately, outgrowing it quickly. Recently, I was made aware of some brand new items that Graco has introduced and they are amazing!
When asked about review a Graco product, I was thrilled! Baby Rebekah is having to use all the gear that is getting worn out and getting something new and fresh for her was pretty exciting. Poor girl has had all the hand-me-downs...it was time for something new for my little princess. So, for this review I was sent the Graco Swivi Seat Highchair. This chair sports some amazing features and I felt like a modern mommy when I saw how sophisticated it was.
First of all, this chair comes unassembled and you have to put it together. At first,I was like "oh no" when I opened the box and saw all the pieces. But when I read through the directions, I was thrilled when I read that there were NO TOOLS required for assembly. Cool!! This was a huge plus.
The directions were super easy to read and understand, which I appreciated. I have put together some pretty complicated things in my day and sometimes, the directions are horrendous. Graco really makes it easy to read their instruction manuals. All of the parts on this highchair just snap into place. Pretty much you are attaching the legs to the seat part, installing the gripping feet on the legs and installing the chair pads and tray assembly. There really isn't much to put together. I think it took me about 10 minutes to fully assemble this chair.
Once it is fully assembled, I enjoyed trying out all the features and letting my baby sit in the chair and see how she enjoyed it. Probably the most ingenious feature of this chair is that the seat swivels a full 360 degrees. All you do is pull up on the handle on the side of the seat and it very smoothly and effortlessly swivels to a different position. Once the chair locks into place, you are all set! This is so great because I use my high chair all over my kitchen and dining room and having the seat swivel saves me from having to turn the entire chair so baby can see me in different areas of my kitchen. I also love how easy the chair rolls from place to place. Really, I can rotate it and wheel it around with one hand. The foot rest is adjustable to three different heights to accommodate larger children. The seat pad has an infant insert which comes in handy for my little Rebekah. She is a small baby and the extra padding is nice for her. The only things I don't like is the snack tray is so secure, it is really hard to take off and the tray doesn't wrap around enough to support the baby as well as I like.
The chair pads are both washable and easy to wipe clean in case of small messes. I am feeding a 6 month old and so meal times can get messy sometimes. Good to know I can easily wipe this chair down. I do love the snack tray though...it has nice sections so I can sort the snacks out and the edges keep the baby from pushing the food out of reach.
The design on this chair is called Trinidad and I love the gray and green combination. It is definitely gender neutral and works well with my house decor. I will also say that I love that the seat back reclines to five different positions and also, that the seat itself adjusts to 7 different height levels.
I love how this chair will grow with my baby. She will benefit from this chair until she is ready to sit at the table in a regular booster chair. The harness is adjustable, which makes it nice if you have a smaller or larger baby. My LO is petite so she needs a bit more support.
So, if you were to ask me how much I like this Graco Swivi Seat High Chair I would tell you that I am IN LOVE with it. (I think it is safe to say that Rebekah likes it too) Totally worth it. Currently, it retails for $199 and would make a perfect gift for any baby shower. Trust me...the mom-to-be will love it. :) I love my Graco highchair and will probably be a Graco fan forever. :)
